"I'm not so sure this is a good idea anymore." Carrie was sitting in the passenger seat of the family SUV, staring over at Lola, who had just spent ten minutes convincing the nanny to let her drive them to the grocery store.

It probably wasn't the wisest decision, not when Carrie was expecting a paycheck from Stevie at the end of each week to survive... It wouldn't end well if she were to find out.

With a soft, yet very mischievous smile trailing across her face, the younger girl turned the key in the ignition. "It's fine."

"No, I don't think it's a good idea either, Lola." Crew didn't get nervous often, but the thought of his sister driving was slightly terrifying. "What if something happens? Mom will totally freak out." He added, glancing over at Clancy.

She was already fast asleep in her booster seat with her head resting on the door. Poor kid had no idea what they were in for on that ride.

"Nothing's going to happen, so just shut up." She rolled her eyes as she turned her head to look behind them. "She'll never even find out," her brow arched. "Right, Crew?" Lola knew he could be a snitch and the last thing she wanted was to hear their mother harp anymore than usual.

"It's like you don't even care about her-"

"No one will say anything." Carrie cut him off, not interested in listening to him stick up for Stevie, like always... She thought her bosses rules were dumb too, that's why they were so easily broken. "Just drive nice." She added, gripping her seatbelt as they started to back out of the garage.

With her fingers tangled in his, Stevie followed close behind her husband as her sheepish little laugh filled the night air. She had had a couple of drinks at dinner and in turn, she'd become incredibly bubbly.

She had talked the entire way home, which wasn't really like her. She told Lindsey about her evening with friends, her conversation with her mother and she even talked about their kids... She was open, more so than she had been in a very long time.

"Shh," he couldn't help but chuckle as he worked on unlocking the front door of their home. "We have to be quiet, I bet the kids are asleep." Pushing open the heavy wood, he reached back to welcome her into the foyer first.

As soon her feet hit the tile floor, she was slipping out of her heels and tossing her shawl onto the accent chair. "I wanna dance, Linds." Stevie announced with a soft smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth.

He could hardly see through the dark room, but he still reached out for her hand to pull her in close. "You look so beautiful tonight." Lindsey had already told her that a couple of times earlier in the day, but he just really loved her like that.

With another sweet laugh, Stevie melted into him, only to sway back and forth. "Thank you, honey." Her voice was quiet, low, and even a little seductive.

Staring down into those deep brown eyes, he slipped one arm around her waist. "I've had a really good evening with you." He scanned over her face, taking in her all of the beauty for a long moment.

He could have sworn, in that very second, as absolute silence engulfed them, he had fallen in love with her all over again. She was gorgeous and happy... She just looked so good.

Nodding softly, she let her fingers dance up his chest and around his shoulder. "I had a really good time with you, Linds." She assured as she leaned in a little further.

He paused for a second, eyes still locked with hers as he tried to decide if she was thinking the same thing that he was thinking...

"I really want to kiss you right now." Lindsey whispered as he gently brought one hand up to her cheek.

In all honesty, he hadn't been that attracted to her in a long time, he really hadn't. Of course, he always thought she was beautiful, but he really hadn't felt that much affection towards her in years.

He had almost forgotten just how much he loved her.

"Then kiss me," her voice was so raspy. "Kiss me." She repeated with an almost shy giggle.

With one hand still resting on the small of Stevie's back, he leaned down to press his lips to hers.

It took a moment and then, without much thought, she wrapped both of her arms around his neck and pushed herself up on her tiptoes to get closer.

It felt right. It felt like finally, after their entire lives had crumbled down around them, they were reuniting in the only form they were ever totally certain on- their love for each other.

"God, I've missed you." He mumbled against her mouth as he slowly pushed her back into the wall.

"I've missed you more." When she said that, it wasn't an over exaggeration.

They spent a couple of minutes kissing, but it didn't really last long, not after his hands had slipped down to her waist and then hesitation immediately took over.

With a deep sigh, her head fell back as she felt his lips travel her jaw line and then down the curve of her neck. "Lindsey?" She closed her eyes as she lightly patted his back. "Lindsey, I'm sorry." Shaking her head, she sank down in defeat.

She couldn't do it.

With his arms still wrapped around her, he let out a soft sigh. "Don't be sorry." He shook his head as she snuggled into the crook of his neck.

Tears slowly filled the brims of her eyes as she left a soft kiss on his jaw. "Will you lay down with me for awhile?" She wondered, not at all interested in anything other than just being held.

His lips turned up as a low chuckle escaped him. "I would really like that, baby." That sounded perfect to him- just being close to her was good enough.

"Come on," with his hand in hers, she led the way through the foyer.

The entire house was dark- so much so, they had both kind of figured that everyone had fallen asleep... they were wrong.

"Did you have fun?" Her voice caused Stevie to gasp as she flicked on the hallway light.

Carrie was standing in the doorway that separated the living room from the foyer with her hair tossed into a messy bun and in her pajamas. She looked exhausted, but after chasing three kids around all day, anyone would.

Nodding her head, the older woman sank back into her husband casually. "Yeah, we had fun, dear." She assured. "We're gonna go to bed, but you're more than welcome to spend the night, I know it's late."

Lindsey shifted awkwardly, feeling her cold blue eyes burning into him as he slipped one hand around his wife's waist from behind.

"I'll probably just stay, yeah." Carrie mumbled, jaw settling.

Stevie gave her another very warm as she began to trail down the hallway once more. "Sleep well, sweet girl."
