So I got nominated by @Grenineon for my own Thank You Note challenge XD now I can see why you all hate me for making this really annoying... Oh well, your pain and suffering was totally worth it.
Well, here goes.
Okay, so for this challenge I have 3 authors to thank for getting me into writing: one is IRL, one is on wattpad, and the other is on fanfiction.net.
J.K. Rowling:
I have admired her since I was 8 years old and beginning to read books. Not only did I love her Harry Potter series, but I really just love and admire the woman herself. J.K. Rowling has been my role model since age 8 and I want to grow up to be just like her someday! Her life story is so inspiring, and I've watched the documentary on it like three times XD if I could meet one person in this world it would be her.
Riley Sky (fanfiction.net):
This author wrote the very first Pokemon Fanfiction I ever read, and I got into writing my own stuff just by reading her books. They were all fantastically written, and they inspired me to become a writer. I wasn't sure at the time if I wanted to be a full-fledged author or not, but I at least wanted to be a successful Pokemon fanfiction writer, which I have already achieved thanks to all of you readers! Riley Sky is my favorite Pokemon Ranger writer, and I admire how she writes her books all in third person. I can't do that... I only do some parts of my stories in the third person, otherwise I personally prefer first person point of view.
And last but not least, Master_Of_Illusions:
So, after reading Riley Sky's works and stumbling onto wattpad, I wrote one book and completed it. Except it sucked ass and I even hated it myself (which is why it's being re-written right now...). So, I sort of lost faith in myself as a writer, and I just...gave up. I must have went a month or two without touching another story to work on. Then, I decided to start reading other authors's books instead in attempt to spark my creativity again. The very first one I stumbled upon was Master_Of_Illusions's "I Hate Everything About You," which I'm sure everyone on this website has read. I was so amazed with the structure and detail of this book that it proved to me once again that it was possible to write a really amazing story. I loved the character development, creativity, intriguing plot, gripping cliffhangers, and the romance of this story. This one book invoked such strong emotions throughout the whole story, and I was even inspired to draw a piece of fan art for one of the scenes in it. Usually when I'm reading a book I can find at least one thing that could be changed to make the story better, but I honestly couldn't find a single detail in her book at all that needed fixing. Overall it was just phenomenal. I have her to thank for inspiring me again and helping me not give up and lose faith in myself.
And now, thanks to these three authors, look where I am now! I have lots of lovely readers and several pain in the ass friends to keep me company on a daily basis, and I have 60 something stories to write!
Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if I stopped after that one book and never looked back, but then again I guess it really doesn't matter in the end. That's just a 'what if' scenario, and there's no point in dwelling on it if it didn't actually happen.
See why I created this challenge in the first place, guys?
Now, I nominate, if they haven't already done this challenge already:
