1 Year Anniversary

Exactly one year ago today, I joined Wattpad. And I'll be honest with you here...I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

I had just got into writing, and only wrote one book for fun. Then, I started reading other peoples' books on here, and got inspired to write another one: When Destiny Calls.

If I didn't write that book, I never would've met Dragons_Rose, who was my very first follower and commenter. She basically endorsed me, giving me the push I needed to become the successful wattpad author I am today. Without her help, I doubt that any of you guys out there would've met me or discovered any of my books. She gave me feedback, tips, and ideas that helped strengthen my writing style, and she still helps me with these things to this day. I don't know what I would do without her. Whenever I'm stuck, have to choose between making one thing in a book happen or another, or just need to talk out the plot of an entire book with someone, I call her. Thank you, Rose. I can't thank you enough.

And then the two of us got this crazy idea to become friends and make our collaborative account: Serena-Rose. Because that account was made, Rose told her friend Star about it and me, and that's when I met MelonLord7.

All of this happened in the course of 2 months.

After I became friends with these 2 rocking awesome girls, I started writing more. And more. And more. And wattpad became my social life, and I had friends.

And then my books started getting popular.

One year ago today, I had 0 reads, 0 followers, 0 comments, 0 votes, 0 friends, 7 published chapters of 1 book, and 0 unpublished drafts.

Today I have over 200,000 reads combined, 609 followers, over 7,600 comments, over 11,000 votes, a TON of friends/writer-allies, 19 published books, and 31 unpublished book drafts.

I never expected that to happen...honestly. My very first book, Shadows of Almia: The Aura Wars, although completed, stayed at like 200 reads for the longest time. Then again, that's probably because it was total shit. (Not the edited version, of course XD that one's not too bad. Just this current wattpad version is poorly written...)

And then more people started reading more books of mine. And more. And more. And more.

And then I got the idea to write TTTDU, and Rose talked me into entering it in the Pokemon Watty Awards (somehow). And then I actually won. (Well, 2nd place...but that's still pretty dang good).

When I met Rose, I couldn't photoshop AT ALL. I was still drawing my book covers, which really sucked XD but then I taught myself how to photoshop. One year ago today, the only thing I could do was put a filter on a picture using the button on my iPhone. And now? I won the 2014 Pokemon Watty Award's "Best Cover" special award.

Along the way, along this wattpad journey, I gained more followers and readers. And most importantly...

I gained more friends.

So, one year later on the very same day I joined wattpad, I would like to thank all of you.

Thanks to you, I discovered that I really liked writing, and I actually want to pursue it as my profession. Thanks to you and your comments, I gained more confidence in myself. Thanks to you all PM'ing me and sending me fan mail, I was pulled from the darkness that was my depression and I've pulled through and made a full recovery.

Thanks to you, I'm no longer depressed, and I'm happy.

So, thank you. Honestly. I wouldn't be where I am today without any of you and your support.

And just know... The good deeds you've all done for me by literally saving my life... It'll come back around to you. You all were there for me, and now I'll be there for you.
