Chapter 35 [New Competition]

(Y/n)'s POV

After the whole punishment with Phoenix, I will admit that I may have gone a little over board. Though I can't shake the feeling that I wasn't as rough or stern as I should have been. Even if one apologizes, it does not actually mean their sorry for their own actions or words. But for now I'll just have to assume for the best that she means well or else next time Helena would be sure to hit cancel on her legs. And to be honest, I don't think Phoenix can last as long as me or Helena, especially if we're together.

We were now sitting together and Phoenix was still catching her breath, but while on my lap panting slightly. "Someone is tired. Are you ready to go home?" Phoenix silently nodded whilst quietly whining. And though her response was enough for me Helena sighed slightly annoyed by Phoenix his lack of respect.

"Phoenix we've been through this verbal answers please." (Wow that was the first time I've ever heard an Alpha, especially Helena, say please for something revolving behavioral issues.) Phoenix leaned off of my chest and fearfully looked me in the eyes.

"I'm sorry Ms. Reaper," Phoenix quietly mumbled. She gently leaned back but this time into the crook of my neck. "Can we perhaps tomorrow spend the night together?" She shyly asked.

"Like a sleepover or another way?" I soothingly teased. "You need to be specific." Phoenix shook her head defensively and cutely whined.

"No, no, I meant like a sleepover I mean there's nothing wrong with.....you know what. I-I...should...., I should be quiet." She stuttered.

"No~, you shouldn't..." I gently cupped her face slowly pulling her back from me so we could see each other's expressions. "Besides," I smirked. "I enjoy hearing you." Phoenix blushed brightly with a whine.

"Well it seems as if you two are getting along nicely." Helena hummed. "Do you two want to stay here while I go to the bar?" Phoenix held her tongue in fear that she would say something wrong, but knowing Helena if she didn't she say anything she'd be in trouble.

"Yes ma'am," I sweetly responded with a small wag of my tail.

"Good girl~," She gently scratched my chin. "As for you," She gestured towards Phoenix.

"Mistress," I rudely spoke out hoping she'd take it lightly. Thankfully she did and hummed quietly in response. "May I talk with her instead?" I asked nicely.

"Hmm, I don't know~...with her behavior," She glared at Phoenix. "I doubt that that would be a good idea."

"Please~, I promise she'll behave with me. I'll make sure of it." I quietly begged in hopes that I could keep her safe from another punishment.

"You are a Good girl. Yet, despite this you have just as much trouble with speaking up as Phoenix." My ears flattened as I thought she would change her mind. "But you have showed improvement unlike Phoenix, therefore I can vouch for you." She gently patted my head as she began to walk. "I'll see you two later, okay?" She smiled. The two of us said yes as she finally left. Although after a few moments of silence I began to correct the red haired girl.

"You know, you'd save yourself a lot of trouble if you learned to be more respectful." Phoenix whined at my incoming lecture and stuffed her face near my chest, though it didn't seem to bother me.

"I am respectful...I just struggle to show it-..."

"So~, your version of showing respect is to argue with your superiors and at like a brat when you don't get your way?" I angrily growled at her. "You..." I looked down to her shaking form. "Have no right as a Beta to act such a way. Your behavior is displeasing."
