Koo Han led the group lead the group to the entrance to ManWol before he had to bid farewell. ManWol is such a grand place.
"It's architecture never gets old," Tessa breathed. Beth took out her cell phone and snapped a photo and a selfie of herself with the group.
ManWol's architecture is mixed with architecture like the ones you could see at an old cathedral while still looking fairly modern. Unlike the rest of the group, Gabe has never been to ManWol.
"It's breathtaking."
"We'll don't get used to it," Beth said.
The group walked over to the guest and visitors' entrance as the group would need to receive their student IDs first. Without a student ID, you couldn't get anywhere in such a fortified place like ManWol. There are guards everywhere constantly patrolling around the perimeter of the school with their fancy expensive-looking uniforms. Custom-tailored to fit perfectly. The guards had checked the contents of their backpacks and did a metal scan on them before letting them in.
As a precaution to protect all of ManWol student's they all would have to walk through a metal-detector-gateway-sensor and the gang of 4 was no exception. Gabe had a problem as the sensor had picked up his watch. The guard had instructed him to remove it for further inspection. He was later told that he would get the watch back when they get their student IDs later in the day.
Then, the group was instructed to wait at the visitors' lounge. Wayne was fidgeting nervously the entire waiting period. Beth was trying her best to calm him down trying out different breathing exercises.
A couple of minutes later, four students led by an older woman came in. All of them were dressed and primmed to perfection. At the sight of them, Tessa clenched her fists while trying to smile respectfully, Beth bit the underside of her lip while Wayne looked down to avoid eye contact.
"I'm Mrs Son a member of the board of governors. On behalf of the school, I would like to welcome four of you to ManWol," she said enthusiastically with such a plastic smile that Gabe recoiled. He had recognized the way she smiled. He had seen the same smile in his father. His father never showed any genuine affection towards him. The only affection that he had ever received from him was his father's fake affection. Just for show, only shown in front of people.
"These are students from ManWol which I hope that you'll get acquainted with," Mrs Son said with that plastic smile while motioning to the four students. "Oh my, look at the time. I'm going to be late for a meeting! Jaehwan, would you please give them a school tour?" She motioned to the oldest of the four ManWol students. "I'm terribly sorry." She hurriedly bustled of clacking her high heels as she hurriedly paced down the hallway.
"Well, well, look who's back! Mr Livingstone, long time no see. Do you still swim? Even after I've trashed you last year and the year before?" Jaehwan grinned.
"Jaehwan! Don't you start it!" a girl grabbed onto his shoulder but he nudged her off.
"Why you little!" Wayne was about to throw a fit but Beth got up to stop him. "It's not worth it," she told him.
"Ahh, I see you've brought your girlfriend."
"She's not my-"
"Don't care," Jaehwan interrupted he was about to add something else but stopped himself when he noticed Gabe, he immediately straightened himself and said, "My, my, where are my manners? I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Son Jaehwan, this is my sister Jaereom," he motioned to the girl who grabbed his shoulder a moment ago. "My friends Naeun and Seojun."
Jaereom elbowed his brother in the ribs and told him through gritted teeth, " Stop acting like a jerk! You're behaving like Jacob."
Jacob was a kid that Jaehwan despise so much but despite all that, Jaehwan couldn't resist the temptation of taunting Wayne.
