The commander, Miles, Maddison and Ron stayed in hiding for several days. Miles had used the drug and his whole face had been reconstructed. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He couldn't even recognise himself. The authorities back home had begun their clean-up removing all deceased bodies from the scene. The whole bridge and everything around it had been swiftly repaired. They even came up with some ridiculous cover-up story, which everyone foolishly believed.
The world resumed back to normal as if nothing had ever happened. Wayne and Beth had been returned to their respective homes. The next week, school resumed as per normal. Maddison had decided to return back to school after all her wounds and scars had fully healed.
The moment Tessa saw her in the hallway, she sprinted towards her as fast as her legs could carry and embraced her tightly.
Nobody would fully know the whole truth unless they had lived through the experience first-hand. Though Gabe and Trevor were no longer around, their legacy was left behind. Gabe's swim coach, the juniors that Gabe and Trevor met would always remember their existence but to everyone else who had known the truth, they were family. They are the bravest and most courageous people you'll ever meet.
Gabe's journal was found several days later tucked under his bed's pillow in the bunker. Maddison and Ron decided to keep the journal. It would be the last proof of their existence.

It pains me to write the most recent revelations so I'll make it brief. Grandpa (aka Trevor on earth and Travis when I first met him) was actually Prince Harvey. It broke my heart that he never told me about it after all the time we spent together. Though, it's too late now. Grandpa is in a much better place. Free from all the pain and sufferings of the world. I've read somewhere that;
"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." – Charles R. Swindoll.
I'll learn to get through this. I won't let this break me because I know that Grandpa wouldn't want that. I'm sure that he just wanted to be free from his prison and I'm glad that I get to be a part of his life.
