3rd April XXXX

Yesterday had been one long day. I'm physically and mentally exhausted. Wayne and Beth caught up with us at the vending machine. Wayne apologized and it's all good now. Classes yesterday was out of this world, literally. They have a whole load of fancy equipment. I bet they're expensive. My whole experience has been so overwhelming so far. People expect so much from you that if you can't catch up, you'll be left behind. I constantly keep taking the wrong turns to classes. I went to the bathroom to wash up and I literally got lost. I ran into Seojun in the hallway a moment later and decided to ask him for help. Unbelievably, he got us lost too. So, I ended up missing the rest of the class. :\

"Welcome to The Social Butterfly! I'm Choi Soojin." She welcomed the group with such a plastic smile that Gabe even wondered if there's anyone here who was ever genuine.

"You guys joined just on time! The Spring Ball is coming up and we need all the extra help we can get," Soojin said with a smile so wide it might've looked like she said the whole thing through gritted teeth. "Before we begin the actual discussing, let's all introduce ourselves to the new members." Soojin then swivelled her head to face another girl and began discussing things quite frantically.

"Hey! I'm Choi Seojun, remember?" He introduced.

"Yes, we do," Tessa replied.

"Nice to see you again, buddy." Seojun extended his hand.

Gabe shook it, "Nice to see you too."

"Say, look at that watch of yours. I'm a huge fan of watches. What brand is it? Looks top of the line."

"Uh, sorry to disappoint but it doesn't have a brand."

"Can I see? There's no way that a watch that high end has no brand. I can spot a good watch a mile away."

"Sure," Gabe said handing him the watch.

Seojun took it examining it closely. "There has to be some engravings or print somewhere," he mumbled to himself. "Woah, it's a smartwatch too! Its display is phenomenal. I honestly thought that it was a gear watch. Here's your watch, man," Seojun said handing Gabe the watch. "You got to tell me where you got it from. I need one of those literally."

"Umm... I don't actually remember?" Gabe lied.

"Aww, well, if you ever happen to remember, tell me ok?"

"Sure."

The Spring Ball is an event that ManWol celebrates every year after all the interschool sports events are done. The dates always fall during Spring. Thus, given the name, Spring Ball.

"That's Soohyang," Beth told Gabe motioning to the girl Soojin was talking to. "She made the prettiest flower decorations last year."

"Alright, so this year, unfortunately, the Spring Ball can't be held in the school's hall," she paused for a moment for a dramatic effect. "Apparently, the hall has been fully booked. So, does anyone have any suggestions for a new location?"

The room went silent. Some began eyeing each other. Others scratch their heads and avoid eye contact.

Soojin sighed, "No one? What about the new people?"

"What about the beach?" Beth suggested. "We could put up tiki torches and fairy lights."

"That's actually a brilliant idea. We've never done that before," another girl said.
