When Minho opened up the door, he could already hear his Moms fighting. Oh how tired he was.

He had had a long day. Starting off strong with a fight with Jisung and Felix, leading up to him driving home alone and taking away the last dose of happiness and energy he usually gained from driving Jisung home. To make things worse, he had had dancing classes. Don't get Minho wrong, he loved dancing. It just took up a lot of energy to teach a bunch of kids that hadn't had dancing classes in their entire life. Yes, Seonghwa and Juyeon made it a bit easier, but he was still completely exhausted when finishing up the class.

And now this. Minho should've been used to it by now. This had been going on for weeks and weeks now. Minho had stopped counting at some point. But for some reason it still surprised him. For some reason he still couldn't deal with it.

Being as silent as possible he slipped out of his shoes and tried to make his way upstairs in his room without being noticed. But of course fate had different plans. One bag he didn't see and bang he was laying on the floor, drawing both of the women's attention onto him.

"Minho darling did you hurt yourself?", his Mom asked as soon as she arrived where Minho was laying. "Let me see him", his Ma tried to get past his Mom. "I was here first, this is my business", his Mom said and blocked his Ma's way.

Sighing Minho got up by himself. His Moms were once again busy with annoying each other. He knew he couldn't get away now so he just said: "Ma, Mom, I'm fine." "That's great", both of them smiled in his direction and immediately started attacking each other again. "Didn't I say I'll take care of this?", his Mom said aggressively. "Am I not allowed to check up on my son?", his Ma fought back. "I pressed him out of my stomach, remember? I think it's my right more than it's yours. You were too scared to take the responsibility", his Mom argued. " "AND WHO STAYED AT YOUR SIDE THE ENTIRE TIME? WHO TOOK CARE OF YOU? I DID. MAYBE I WAS TOO SCARED, BUT HE'S STILL THE OUTCOME OF OUR WORK!" "Minho sweetheart, what do you think? Who should be allowed to check up on you? Me or this cheating woman?" "I AM NOT CHEA-"

Meanwhile Minho couldn't think straight anymore. No, he'd never get used to this. How was he supposed to decide? Who was he to decide? Both of them were his Moms and nothing would change about that. He wanted them to stop fighting. He wanted everything back to normal. He didn't want to decide between them. He. Didn't. Want. This.

"CAN YOU STOP IT?", he screamed in desperation. He hadn't noticed until now that he was shaking. Both women were staring at him in disbelief. "I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY. I DON'T WANT TO DECIDE ANYTHING STUPID", he continued. His Moms were still staring. Then his Ma slowly turned to his Mom. "He's depressed. This is all your fault." "How is it my fault? You're the one who's cheating."

Minho couldn't hear it anymore. He turned around and ran off to his room. How many times did he have to go through this again?

Minho's Moms weren't soulmates. Minho's entire life they'd been teaching him that soulmates weren't necessary. "You can be happy without your soulmate." That's what they'd always told him. Until his Ma had found her's some time ago. Ever since then everything went downhill. His Moms had started fighting. One being convinced that the other was cheating with her soulmate, the other being just utterly confused with her feelings. It had been the hardest time of Minho's life.

Sometimes he felt like he should tell Jisung or Felix, but then the fear grabbed him again. There was still hope within Minho that they'd eventually stop fighting, that everything would go back to normal. Plus, Jisung and Felix were so convinced by the whole soulmate idea. They'd only tell him that soulmates were indeed a must and that was the least thing Minho wanted to hear.

Right now he knew exactly what he wanted to hear. He let himself fall onto his bed and searched with shaking hands his phone. As soon as he found it he unlocked it, opened the contacts app and dialled one specific number.

After some ringing the other person finally picked up and Minho could hear a small "Yes?" from the other side of the line. Now the tears started falling. He couldn't do this anymore. "Jeongin", he got out in between the sobs. A sigh was hearable.

"What do you want me to tell you this time hyung?"
"Ju-Just anything", Minho sniffled.
"Ugh okay, let me think of something. This is really random most of the times so it's kinda hard to come up with something on the spot."
"S-Sorry. This is so stupid."
"No, no, it's fine, don't worry hyung. I'm happy I can help. Now shut up please, I'm trying to recall the past days."

Minho had found himself calling Jeongin many times after a fight with his Moms. The younger didn't ask questions. Well, in the beginning he did, but he had understood soon enough that Minho wouldn't tell him anything. After that Jeongin had started telling him about his days and Minho just listened while trying to calm down. Weirdly enough the younger had an extremely calming effect onto Minho.

"Oh I got something! Yesterday some people in my Geographic course were supposed to do a presentation. You've probably already guessed it, but they hadn't prepared anything so they tried to come up with some legitimate excuses. They weren't good in that either. One of them really tried to convince the teacher that his dog actually had eaten his notes and I know for a fact that that guy doesn't even own a dog." Minho had to giggle at that.
"Heyyy you laughed!"
"What? Nooo I didn't."
"Yes of course, you're right. This is a really serious phone call."
"Yes really, really serious."
"Really, really, really serious. Anyways I remembered something else! Today Seungminie hyung and I went to the city. I think he skipped his class to be able to go with me..."

While he listened to Jeongin, Minho was still able to hear loud voices from downstairs. He prayed that Jeongin wasn't able to hear them. If he did, Jeongin was really good in hiding that. Minho wished he could do that too. In general Minho wished to be as unbothered as Jeongin was. Maybe all of this wouldn't hit him as hard as it did then.

They hung up about two hours later. It was late and Jeongin's parents had called him for dinner.

Minho wasn't sure if he'd eat. That wasn't his first priority right now. His priority was to stay happy and stay calm until the next morning. His Moms would be out at work then and he could make something to eat in peace.

The house was silent at the moment. The voices had died down.

Maybe he was finally able to go to sleep in peace.
