[ W e d n e s d a y , 2 4 t h A u g u s t ]Another Wednesday morning. Another time being at school way too early. From week to week Hyunjin doubted more and more why he was doing this to himself. Jeongin talked as usually, completely unbothered by his friends, who weren't really listening. Seungmin was leaning onto Hyunjin half asleep and Hyunjin was lost in his thoughts.
The last few days had been weird. Hyunjin, Seungmin and Jeongin had spent their breaks mostly with Felix and Jisung, who were accompanied by Minho from time to time. Since last Friday things had changed a bit within that group. More people had joined them. A guy named Chan was now always there and two others joined them from time to time. Their names were -as far as Hyunjin could remember- Changbin and Hongjoong. Felix had told him that Chan was his soulmate and Hyunjin was really happy for him.
The only problem: This whole thing still disturbed him. He didn't want to think about his soulmate situation. Seungmin had also been triggered more often and it made Hyunjin worried. In short, the whole soulmate thing had been more present than ever in his life and Hyunjin did not like it.
"Hey are you guys okay? You seem weird today", Jeongin asked. Was Hyunjin okay? He didn't know, so he decided not to reply. Seungmin would do that for him.
There was a moment of silence in which Seungmin scooted closer to Hyunjin. It was clear, that the other wouldn't respond either.
"Oh, thank you, you guys are amazing friends", Jeongin said and got up. "I better go and spend time with my amazing classmates. You're the worst." With that Jeongin grabbed his bag and left. Now Hyunjin felt bad, but it was already too late. Jeongin was gone. "I think we fucked up a bit with Jeongin", Seungmin said and sat up straight. He rubbed his eyes and looked over to Hyunjin. "I thought you'd respond", Hyunjin defended himself. "I literally was half asleep, how was I supposed to respond?" Hyunjin wanted to say something else, but Seungmin waved it off. "Let's not fight about this and go to class. We can talk it out with Jeongin later", he then suggested and Hyunjin agreed with a nod. Seungmin was right, it was stupid to fight about this.
The two of them got up, hugged each other and made their ways to their classes.

Sighing he sat down next to Jisung. The smaller was busy typing on his phone, but looked up to smile at Hyunjin. "Hey." "Hey." Hyunjin smiled back. He liked the other's smile. It was genuine and it made Hyunjin smile as well.
"Excited for History?", Jisung continued to ask after Hyunjin had unpacked his stuff. "Yeah of course, I love History", Hyunjin responded and rolled his eyes, making Jisung smile. "Yeah, me too", he said, badly imitating Hyunjin's tone. "Hey, I don't sound like that at all", Hyunjin exclaimed playfully. "You kinda do." Jisung said still imitating Hyunjin's tone. Now it sounded even worse. "You're a meanie." Hyunjin pouted. "Not true! I'm just stating facts." Jisung crossed his arms in front of his chest. It looked like he was now trying to imitate how Hyunjin looked whenever he was mad. "You're very annoying. Anyway, what's the whole thing with Felix? I still didn't completely get what was happening there", Hyunjin asked. Jisung almost immediately dropped the act. "Oh, you already know that Lix found his soulmate, right?" Hyunjin nodded. "Well, they found each other in my producing class and have been texting and calling each other ever since. They're as close as you can get in like six days. There's not much more to tell you", the younger explained, seeming down. "You don't seem really happy about it though", Hyunjin spoke out his thoughts. "Ah that's difficult to explain. I am happy, but not."
That statement confused Hyunjin more than it explained anything, but he didn't get the chance to ask more questions because of their teacher trying to begin the class. So he just put his hand on Jisungs shoulder as an attempt to cheer the younger up. But -to Hyunjin's surprise- the younger passed out instead of reacting in a positive way. Why was Hyunjin always the one to witness this? What did he do?
The class around them gave passed out Jisung some weird looks, but it seemed like most people were already used to Jisung's reaction to triggers. The teacher also moved on, which meant that everyone was informed would not create pressure for Jisung. That was really good. Hyunjin still didn't know why he cared that much, but for some reason he did. Since Jisung had no way of listening to what the teacher was saying Hyunjin decided to take notes for the younger. While he did that, he also tried to keep an eye on Jisungs position, making sure that the smaller was still able to breathe.
Five minutes later Hyunjin heard a groaning next to him, announcing that Jisung had woken up. After scanning the boy and making sure that he was okay he silently handed Jisung his notes. The younger's eyes widened in disbelief, but he mouthed a "thank you". Hyunjin only smiled and turned back to the teacher.
When the lesson ended Hyunjin couldn't keep himself from asking: "Did I do something wrong?" "Huh why?" "You passed out again", Hyunjin reminded the other. "Oh yeah you probably did. I mean, who wouldn't pass out when they're touched by someone like you?" Jisung laughed and Hyunjin raised an eyebrow at him. "I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take that as a compliment." "Yeah you think about that. Oh no wait, that's probably already too hard for you." Hyunjin formed an O-shape with his mouth before hitting the younger. "Hey, respect your elders. What happened to you all being shy, you meanie?" "I don't know", Jisung smiled and got up. "See you later", he then said and ran off once again disrespecting the older.
Hyunjin shook his head in disbelief. This boy is something else. I don't understand him, Hyunjin thought to himself, before also getting up and making his way to the door. Seungmin was waiting for him. They needed to make up with Jeongin.
