"Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present."
― Marcus Aurelius

Sahadev's pov

My life has been so great in the midst of nature, that I can't thank the gods enough. Even though Pitashree wants us to go to Hastinapur as we grow up, for Jyeshth to take the position of the Yuvraj, a part me wishes to stay in the forest. It seems as if the thick trees protects us not only from the sharp rays of the sun,but also from the envious gaze of other men. Our home in the lap of mother nature is the perfect haven, she feeds her with her luxurious bounty, and helps our family grow closer everyday. Not to forget the fact that mother nature helped us find Harini. I can't even begin to explain how I feel about her. Though we are young, she is my best friend, my confidant. Sometimes it only takes a single glance for her to understand all of my emotions. I don't like sharing my thoughts as much as my elder brothers do,but with her I speak without hesitation. I feel comfortable sharing my inner thoughts, my inner turmoil and everything else with her and she always gives me the best advice, though sometimes in the form of a witty or snarky comment.

It was quite early as the sun was not out yet, and I sat near the river, just staring at the stars.

I was trying to find out why I've been having a bad feeling, as if something is going to happen. Something bad....I can't sleep at all because my worries are eating me. Suddenly I hear a rustling behind the bushes, I turn around to see Harini  looking at me with worry in her eyes.

I smile at her, silently asking her to join me

I smile at her, silently asking her to join me. "What are you doing here so early?", I ask her. "Gurudev wanted me bring him some freshly bloomed flowers for puja, but what are you doing here?",she asked me back. I remained quite, I can never lie to her, but I don't want to worry her with my nonsense predictions. "Whats wrong Devaa? You've been like this for few days now.", she asked once more, this time with a frown on her face.

I sighed, giving up,"I have been noticing an omen, a bad one, its not very strong right now, so I think something bad will happen in the future

I sighed, giving up,"I have been noticing an omen, a bad one, its not very strong right now, so I think something bad will happen in the future.",I told her honestly. "Why should we ruin our present over something that may or may not happen in the future?",she asked. I sighed, she was right. I felt her intertwine our hands,"Devaa no matter what happens we'll face it together, all of us. And yes, I'll stand with you all, forever..guarding you and protecting you.",she promised, making all of worries go away, suddenly.

And she did, she kept her promise till her last breath, even when everyone she loved forgot to keep theirs.
