Chapter 1: Catching Up

"How do I bring them back?" Luke said to himself.

Luke began to look out the window and see the angels cleaning up our mess and helping the innocents who were injured.

****In the void****

"I wish I listened, none if this could've happened." I said. "I know, I told you." Sean said.

****Surface****

Luke walked out of house and decided to help out the angels. Once he approached an angel, the angel swung his leg to hit Luke in the chest, launching him away from the angel.

"You demons are disgusting!" The angel said. Luckily Azora was near, so she helped Luke back up. "What was that for?!" Azora asked. "Why do you care about this demon?" The angel said while pointing at Luke. "This demon was the one that ended what an Archdemon tried to do!" Azora said as she stood infront of Luke.

"He's still a demon, and he isn't to be trusted." The angel said. "Just let him help, he isn't bothering you!" Azora said. "Whatever."

"I'm sorry for what happened Luke." Azora said. "Uhh, It's okay, you don't have to apologize." Luke said all flustered. "Come on, you can help me assist the injured." Azora added right before she grabbed Luke by the hand.

"Here, there's a family down the basement!" Azora said. "How can you see them?" Luke asked. "Oh, us angels can see those who are in need of assistance." Azora said.

Luke began to lift the rubble from the basement door and could hear the family inside. "I can hear them, open the door, I can't hold it for much longer!" Luke said, struggling to hold the rubble over his head.

Azora opened the door and hurried the family out. Luke then dropped the rubble and walked back to Azora. "You're a demon, why were you struggling to lift the rubble?" Azora asked. "I don't know, I know I'm not that weak." Luke said.

"Your body must be exhausted from what you went up against." Azora said. "It could be, but I don't feel tired." Luke said. "I said your body, not you, so let me take you to your house." She added.

As Azora and Luke went to the house, Luke noticed the angels reconstruct the entire damaged area while the civilians are taken somewhere else.

****In the void****

"Are you just going to watch over Luke the whole time?" Sean asked. "Might as well, I got nothing to do." I said. "Fine, well Tom, Max, myself, and the rest are going to figure out a way to communicate with Luke." Sean added. "Go ahead." I added.

***Surface***

"Here, just lay down and rest, I'll be outside waiting for you." Azora said. "Wait, do angels... sleep?" Luke asked. "Yes, but we only sleep whenever we want to." Azora responded. Luke began to blush. "Uhh, okay, I'll keep that in mind." Luke said trying to cover part of his face. Azora giggled, "Okay, sleep well."

Azora walked out of the room, then down the stairs and noticed Jade was sitting on the couch while being on her phone in tears. "Why are you upset?" Azora asked as she walked up to Jade.

Jade flips her phone towards Azora and shows a picture of her and I at the carnival, before I was a demon.

"Is Chris your partner?" Azora asked. "Yes, and I still miss him." Jade said, wiping her tears off.

"Did he tell you what was really happening?" Azora asked. "I already know what happened to him because Luke told all of us." Jade said. "Us?" Azora said. "His family." Jade added.

"If he can hear me even after death, I just want him to know I'll be here until he comes back." Jade said as she looked up.
