Chapter 9: The Past Returns

"So tell me, how does it feel to be killed by your own power?" Zozo asked.

I began to see everything blurry and it slowly turn into darkness. My struggles began to weaken and my eyes slowly closed. Right before my eyes closed, I saw Tyler heading right towards us with Luke and the others right behind him.

"Sharp Gusts!" Tyler said as he spun and kicked the air, launching a gust of wind towards Zozo.

The gust managed to separate both Zozo and I but since I was close to dying, I began to free fall. "Luke, grab him!" Tyler said. Luke began to dive down to grab me before I hit the ground. Luke managed to grab me and tried to wake me up with his shocks.

"Why is Zozo here, didn't you kill him?!" Luke asked. "I did... the other rulers brought them back." I said. "Others?" Luke asked.

"Yeah others, as in the demons that we had to kill, like Khan, Jackal, and even Shinra." I said. "But don't worry about that right now, focus on Zozo first." I added. "Right..." Luke said, still in disbelief.

Luke and I fly back to Zozo and the others but noticed that Azora was being held hostage by Zozo.

"Now what do we have here?" Zozo said, keeping Azora's mouth shut. Luke's eyes widened in anger and bolted behind Zozo with his sword ready to be swung. "Let her go, or else!" Luke said. "Or else what, last time I remember, you died saving another girl, do you want to repeat history again?" Zozo said.

Luke, furious already, instantly swung his sword at Zozo but with his other arm, Zozo grabbed the sword. "Luke, back away from him, he isn't the same as before!!" I said as I tried to pull him back. "What do you mean?!" Luke asked, but before I could respond, Zozo broke Luke's sword and backhanded him in the face, knocking him out.

"Sean, and girl with the name I forgot, grab Luke, Tyler and I will handle this!" I said. "It's Camille!" Camille said. Sean and Camille dove to grab him while Tyler and I prepared to save Azora.

"Let her go Zozo, your fight is between me!" I said. "Ahh Chris, just like before, you leave out the people who are next to you." Zozo said. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "You said my fight is between me and you, but what about Tyler, is he not part of this fight, do you not need him?" Zozo asked.

"Just like in the past, Sean sacrificed himself for you, but what did you do, you lost control and couldnt even kill me that you needed Sam because your that pathetic!" Zozo said. "Just shut up, I put the past behind me and sure, I may need to fix my past, but I starting now, the past means nothing to me!" I said right before rushing towards him.

Tyler didn't move, he was just watching, as if the words Zozo said affected him instead of me.

"Catastrophic Flames!" I said as I put my palm on Zozo's chest, bursting him into flames. I managed to pull Azora from him while the flames burned him for a minute. "Dark Phoenix!" Both Camille and Sean said, launching their Phoenix's towards Zozo from beneath him.

They managed to hit him and distract him so I could get close again. "Hell Fire!" Tyler said as a large wave of fire pushed all of us away, except for Luke, Sean and Camille.

"A Fire Demon, not bad of a choice, seems like going berserk runs in the family." Zozo said. "Tyler, calm down, don't let him get in your head!" I said, trying to get his attention.

Zozo flew towards me and grabbed me by the throat again. "Chris, your bothering me, I'm more interested in your brother's power." Zozo said, right before with only one hand, snapped my neck and dropped me to the ground.

"Chris!!" Everyone said as they rushed towards me, all but Tyler, who instantly bolted towards Zozo while summoning his scythe.

"Bold of you attack, so let's see if you can keep up!" Zozo said as he summoned a battle axe.
