Chapter 18: Sam's Instincts

The horn blows, so Sam quickly flew over everyone and heads toward Valkus. Sam summoned her gauntlets as they reached up to her shoulders while Valkus summoned a metal rod for each hand.

Valkus threw both rods at Sam at an alarming speed while summoning more to throw. Sam used her gauntlets to deflect each rod, making them ricochet away from her as she dove down towards her.

"Thunderbolt!" Sam said, hitting Valkus and leaving her surprised. "A Thunder Demon now?!" Valkus asked. "No, I'm still the same Copy Demon from before!" Sam said as she landed in front of Valkus. "Then how do you have Thunder Abilities? Copy Demons can only copy by physical touch to another demon!" Valkus said.

"Well, I'm not a regular Copy Demon. I transferred the copying ability to my eyes... So whatever ability I see can be copied instantly!" Sam said, knowing that's half of what her ability can do.

"I see, well then I have to keep my guard up if you have any more surprises!" Valkus said as she summoned more metal rods. Sam instantly lunged toward Valkus, swinging her right fist towards her head, but Valkus deflected Sam's swing with her rod.

"Catastrophic Explosion!" Sam said, pointing her left palm at Valkus, launching her into one of the empty houses. Sam followed behind and walked inside the house Valkus was launched into.

Sam was able to hear Valkus chuckling in the house but was nowhere in sight. "Copying an ability is an overpowered ability..." Valkus said as her voice echoed in the house. Sam quickly turned on the Tracker Eyes so she could at least outmaneuver an incoming attack.

"Very overpowered, if you know how to master it... Right, Sam?!" Valkus said. "You just used that powerful ability, risking your entire left arm to be blown into nothing!" Valkus added.

"One arm or both, I can still kill you either way!" Sam said as she quickly began to regenerate her arm back. "Well then, let's put that to the test, shall we?!" Valkus said as she appeared above Sam, dropping down with a metal rod piercing the ground. Sam managed to jump out of the way, dodging the rod inches away.

"Flame Uproar!" Sam said as she swung her right fist upward, making the flames appear from below. "Flash!" Valkus said as she placed her hand on Sam's face. "Fuck!" Sam said as she rubbed her eyes.

Valkus took this opportunity and rushed towards Sam with a metal rod headed straight for her heart. Sam was able to hear Valkus head towards her, so she instantly leaped over and kicked her onto the ground.

Valkus was stunned. Sam was able to move so quickly while being blinded. "Now that my arm is finally back, let's finish this battle!" Sam said as she summoned her left gauntlet. "What about your eyes?!" Valkus asked. "Don't need them!" Sam said, right before bolting at Valkus with both her arms charging up an attack.

"This must be a Power Demon ability, it should be easy to deflect this attack," Valkus said in her head. "Thundering Punch!" Sam said, using Luke's ability but in a golden color, hitting Valkus in her side.

"Thunder?!" Valkus said as she was launched out of the house. "Oops, wrong ability!" Sam said as she held her arm since it got injured in the process, but not as much as the explosion. "Light Show!" Valkus said, flashing multiple colored lights around Sam, but forgot Sam was still blinded by the flash from before. "What's the matter, are your abilities not working!?" Sam said as she walked towards Valkus.

"She only has 10 minutes left before the flash wears off, I have to think of something quick."

"No need for visual abilities, I can just use my psychological abilities, Light Headed!" Valkus said, suddenly making Sam feel weak and fall to the ground onto her knees.
