Chapter 6

  Karina was actually covering herself with her blanket on her bed. When she heard the cup placed on the nearby table and not her bedside drawer, from what she heard and also hearing deep breathings from Daniel, Karina took off her blanket and got off her bed to see Daniel's face being extremely pale.

  But that was not the only thing Karina saw, she gave out a short gasp as her eyes widened in shock to meet Daniel's eyes.

  The eyes she saw was not natural, not the regular circle pupils, but they were hearts. Karina was surprised, while Daniel was breathing deeply and sweating quite profusely. Karina tilted her head sideways in confusion, she took one step forward but Daniel took a step back.

  Again, Karina was confused by all this, then all of a sudden, Daniel lunged forward at Karina, she was caught off guard at that moment, which resulted in Daniel grabbing her shoulder and pushed her to the ground. Karina gasp as she was surprised by this sudden event, looking at her friend in the eye in shock to see his sudden action, but the eyes which she is looking at doesn't seem to be that of her friend, but a demon.

  Karina tried moving her arms but was suddenly grabbed by Daniel, grabbing at her wrists and forcefully pushed them beside her head. As Karina tried to move from her current circumstance, while Daniel seem to struggle with his inner self, she came to the conclusion that she is completely stuck as her whole body is trapped under Daniel's.

  Which means that, she only has one option left and that is making Daniel come to his senses.

  "Daniel, what is going on? What happened to you? Please where's the old Daniel I use to know when we were kids?" Karina cried out with teary eyes. It was at that moment Daniel's eyes reverted back to normal.

  In shock in what he was about to do, he lunged himself up and his back hitting the drawer. Daniel avoided Karina's eyes and took deep breaths to calm himself down.

  Karina sat herself upright and looked at Daniel in the eyes. She knew he didn't mean with what he has done, but there were things she couldn't say to him like her affiliation.

  "Daniel?" Karina stood up and took a step forward, when she was stop by an outburst.

  "Don't come any closer!" Daniel warned Karina and put his hand up signalling her to stop moving.

  "I am not the same person you know... so much has changed over the past decade and I have changed alot. You on the other hand, well just your height and looks." Daniel spoke in a regretful tone and covered his face with his other hand.

  'But that's not true at all.' Karina commented about the statement in her mind.

  "So much has changed since we last met. I doubt you haven't figured it out but well... I am the same as Troy, an Incubus. Well slightly different at certain aspects but still I am an Incubus and that's a fact." Daniel continued.

  'Well I known that for a while, but is good that you have decided to make such a difficult decision.' Karina commented once again in her mind.

  "It was the reason why I don't feel too pleased when you returned, as much as I would love to meet you again and have a proper conversation. But with my current situation, I just can't... I didn't want to hurt you like just now... I didn't want this to happen... I didn't want any of this event to even happen... I really didn't want to hurt you." Daniel cried as he spoke his heart out.

  "Everything was doing just fine... I could chat with the guys and girls... but when you came into the picture... it felt even more difficult to restrain this instinct of mine." Daniel continued with tears flowing down his face, as he slowly fell to the floor back still against the drawer.

  Daniel placed his hand on his mouth to cover the sound of his cries. Karina was saddened by such news, she wanted to comfort him but with his warnings she is conflicted with what to do.

  All Karina could do is to look at Daniel in the eyes and see what he truly feels as the eyes tend to show the person's true feelings.

  And all Karina could read is that, Daniel is yearning for comfort from an old friend but couldn't.

  "So that's why you avoided me. You didn't want to harm me. But you spoke with the other girls quite alright so why?" Karina thought back to his previous comment.

  "I... I... I see you more than just a friend, but the feeling isn't mutual, isn't it? I mean, we haven't met for a decade. We are bound to take a different look with love. But I just... I don't want this to end our friendship, that is." Daniel answered with cries.

  "Who says our friendship would end with only that fact know? Besides you haven't heard my opinion about you. But still somethings is still bugging me. What did Troy mean by 'mark' Daniel?" Karina asked.

  Daniel thought about it for a while still catching his breath and said "In context, it means something like marking what's yours, but I didn't like the idea. To me this is a curse I didn't want this. But is what I am. Furthermore I mentioned before that I am a bit different. Is common knowledge for all Incubi and Succubi alike that once they reach puberty... they should have already have... uh... lost their virginity. I however it didn't seem right so I am still a virgin. But thanks to that is quite common that if we didn't lose our virginity we would have... hormonal fluctuations. Which causes events such as previously, I took pills in order to suppress these... instinct." Daniel explained as he tried to move away from Karina.

  Karina wanted to help her friend but after hearing his explanation she's at a lost of words. She knows deep down that Daniel loves her to a certain level and the fact that he was being respectful despite his situation makes her think that Daniel is not connected to the case she was assigned to, so she took a deep breath and spoke.

  "So you just need to do 'that' once right? I'll admit it that I may have... similar feelings about you... but if anything happens... you got to be responsible... ok?" Karina spoke in a very cutesy way. But her words shock Daniel for he wasn't expecting such a straightforward response, he thought about it for a while and sighed.

  "Are you sure? Your life could change forever but you wouldn't need to worry about the 'unexpected surprise' we Incubi and Succubi knows when someone is at their most fertile for... you know 'that'. But are you sure you're ok with this? No regrets?" Daniel asked and Karina nodded her head as she knew what she is getting herself into.

  With that Daniel approached Karina slowly and kissed her on the lips, as time goes by it became more passionate as both continued, Daniel completely let his instincts take over.

(I believe ya'll know where this is going but sorry this chapter will have no mention of anything smut related)
