Limitations and Deals

Dream was standing at the head of a table, Swap one one side of the table, Classic and Fell on the other. He was standing, leaning on the desk with his hands with his head hanging to his chest.

“Dammit, it has been an entire week since Ink got kidnapped. He still has not turned up, no matter where Swap and I look. My brother has been using his magic to hide him away from us, and I can not find him no matter what I do. Ink is the only one of us that can travel between aus, and even if we could find him, we can not handle the Bad Sanses without him, he is stronger than both of us combined.” Dream started, looking around the room to Swap, Classic, and Fell before he continued with his monologue.

“Losing him to my brother is devastating, but not only for me and Swap, for the entire multiverse. He is my best friend and the thought of him being corrupted, tortured, or manipulated by my pathetic excuse for a brother is disgusting. But we will also be losing our greatest asset, our protector. We need to help him, I mean the idea of him falling victim to my brother and potentially succumbing to his negativity and manipulation is terrifying. So many people will be hurt and killed if he… I do not even want to think about it.” Dream took a deep breath and looked to the side of the table where Fell and Classic were sitting.

“So I implore you. Please join us. The both of you are powerful and can travel to different aus with less limitations than Swap and I. It would be a temporary fix and you can return to business as usual when we get him back. We know that if we allow Ink to stay captured by the Bad Sanses' any longer than he had already been, then it will cause the Bad Sanses to be able to have even more destruction. Then this destruction will eventually spread to your aus.”

“C’mon. You’re pretty powerful too. Where I come from, if we talk like that about ourselves then we become an easy target.” Fell said, looking away from the table in boredom before continuing his thought. “But I guess I understand, can’t exactly help Ink if you can't even find or teleport to him.”

“Yeah I also get it. But that does kinda mean I’d havta do more work than I already do right? Doesn't really sound like my typa gig. I mean it sucks, but it’s not like they’re coming after me or Fell, right? If they do, we can cross that bridge when it comes to it, but I’d rather not go out of my way for the small possibility something could happen.”

“Please.” Dream immediately started, not wanting to waste their time. “You two are some of the strongest Sanses in the multiverse that are not a part of Nightmare’s gang. You have many reasons to help us, most selfish, but better than nothing in my opinion.”

“Like what?” Fell said, leaning into the conversation curiously.

“Fell, you can prove that you’re strong. I mean the Bad Sanses are some of the strongest beings in the multiverse, and to beat them, or even to be able to sneak past them in order to get Ink is a great accomplishment.” Dream said before turning to Classic to give him a reason to stay. “Classic, I know you are under the assumption that a reset can fix anything. But monsters who can manipulate code such as Cross and Error, well, any destruction they cause can not be fixed by a reset. Anyone dead is dead for real. Any destruction is destroyed for real. There are some things you can not fix.”

Classic and Fell looked at each other, Dream’s words struck a real cord with them. Each of them contemplated the offer and came to their own conclusions about why they should help them. At least until it became inconvenient for them.

“I-uh. I guess that makes sense, yeah. Ok. Fine, I’ll join you. For now. Not permanently. And I’m not gonna be a butt dial for any issues you dumbasses can't get out of on your own. Yeah, I’m going back to my au to live in our nice pacifist timeline when this little adventure is done.” Classic agreed, very hesitantly.

Dream smiled thankfully, and looked at Fell expectantly. He had leaned onto the table and was smirking in a way Dream could only describe as power hungry. Dream shuddered slightly, though not enough for it to be noticeable to anyone. The look sent real shivers up and down his spine and he was hoping this was not going to be a recurring issue.

“I mean, when you put it like that then hell yeah I’ll join. Let’s hope you wont penalize me when I stab the fuck outta them. Plus, if you can get this lazy ass” Fell said, gesturing to Classic sand getting an eye roll and a light but playful slap in return, “to join, then who am I to say no?”

“Thank you two so much. Thank you. You don’t have any idea how much this means to us. We owe you a huge debt.” Swap said, beaming happily at the two, he was pleasantly surprised by them agreeing.

“Honestly, the entire multiverse does.” Dream added.

He sat down and leaned back into his chair, trying to calm himself down from the overwhelming positivity he was feeling. He knew with that deafening aura he would definitely affect the people at the table and the last thing he wanted to do was accidentally take control of what they were allowed to feel.

“Great, maybe I’ll use that debt to have everyone leave us the fuck alone.” Fell said, leaning back and throwing his feet onto the table.

Classic smacked his leg and Fell groaned, taking his feet back off the table. Swap giggled and classic gave him an exaggerated wink that only served to make him giggle some more. Classic scolded Fell for benign rud with his feet on the table and Dream thanked him for being nice enough to even attempt to get Fell to be respectful for once in his life. Dream calmed himself down and regained his composure after his small laughing fit after seeing Fell’s face at being scolded like a child.

“Sorry, sorry Fell. now. Let us just get down to business. So, shall we?” Dream said, placing his hands on the table and clearing the amused tone out of his throat.
