Dream paced the living room, trying to think of something to do. He needed some way to get his friend back, not just physically, but mentally. He wasn't exactly the nicest friend to him, but he would fix that if only he just had the chance to see him. Swap was sitting on the couch next to him, watching him walk back and forth, and he was also trying to figure out a way to get him back in any way he could. Though both of their thoughts were interrupted when Dream could feel the negativity of the Bad Sanses destroying another au. He perked up, smiling giddily, grabbing his bow and his friend before teleporting them both to the battleground. Swap barely knew what was happening before he was thrown into battle, immediately being attacked by Killer and Horror.
It was two against six, Dream was affected by their negativity, and the pure anger of the Bad Sanses. There was no way they could win, especially since they jumped in without even telling Classic or Fell that they were leaving or what was happening. They had to try though, Dream thought that maybe if they were lucky they could beat at least one of them and use them as leverage to get their friend back. Though they had no idea that the Bad Sanses had the exact same idea as them. They fought until they no longer could. Fortunately for them neither Nightmare nor Error were there, they would've lost within minutes if they were.
But without them there they may have actually had a chance. Or they would've. But they were angry, they were pissed. Their anger weakened Dream, and without him at his full strength they did end up losing. Swap was knocked unconscious and Dream barely managed to teleport away before he was obliterated by one of Dust's blasters. Horror picked Swap up and they quickly ran off before Dream would return. He did, after only a few moments, and they were all gone. First his best friend, now his lover, what more could they possibly take from him?
For the first time during all of this something new arose in him. Anger. He had never been angry before. Ever. He clenched his teeth and fell to the floor, ripping the grass from the dirt as he clenched his fists. He lifted his head and in that one moment he swore to himself. Dream swore that he would kill them, not save them, not fix them as he had so many times before. He would kill them.
Swap jumped, being quickly forced into consciousness. He had freezing cold water thrown in his face, coating his clothes and body as it trickled down from his face. He panted heavily and immediately recognised where he was. He fought against the metal shackles chaining him down to the chair below him, looking around, both at and past the Bad Sanses who stood in front of him for a way out. Killer walked over to him, grabbing him by the throat and stopping his desperate attempts to look for any way out for him.
"Oh, c'mon. You really think after all this that you'd just get to go free?" Dust asked from the side, getting his attention easily.
"You'll tell us what we want to know, and if we're feeling generous-" Killer said, before getting interrupted.
"We're not by the way." Cross interjected before he let Killer talk again.
"If we're feeling generous," he continued, releasing the hand from his throat, "We'll let you go."
"Wh-what? What do you want to know?" He asked.
"What did you use to cure Ink? The last time you did this to him." Dust asked.
"What? Why the hell would you care?" Swap demanded.
Dust gritted his teeth and practically growled as he summoned a sharp bone and stabbed it into the chair next to Swap's head. His eyes shot wide as he cut into his cheek with the bone. Blood poured out of the slice and he flinched away from him.
"Listen asshole." Dust said. "We don't owe you anything. You did this to him. If you really care about him you'll help us."
"And if I don't?" Swap asked.
"Then we'll kill you." Killer said, twirling a knife in his hand.
"No." Nightmare replied, materialising behind them and walking up to him. "We'll have a lot more fun with you then that."
Nightmare started smiling with psychotic glee, and physically shooed Dust away from him. Right on cue Ink started screaming with pain. The dungeon was much closer to Ink than his office, and even those few dozen feet just made it that much worse for him. Swap's eyes shot wide open and he looked up to where the screams were coming from. He had never seen Ink like that. Sure, he was in pain, but he never screamed, it was never like this for him.
"What did you do to him?" Swap asked.
"What did we do to him!?" Killer screamed, storming towards him before Nightmare stopped him. "You did this to him!"
"We have only tried to help him. He was screaming with pain even before we attempted to find a remedy for his condition. He's been getting worse. So as Dust said, if you really care for him, then you'll tell us how to help him."
Swap closed his eyes tight and tried to block out the pained screams of his friend. He knew it was his fault, and that he and Dream did this to him. But he wasn't sure whether or not he should let the Bad Sanses in. After all, they kidnaped and manipulated him. He found himself thinking that Dream did what he had to, and that it was their fault, and Ink deserved it. But he knew that was wrong, and that it was horrible to think like that. Swap looked up at Nightmare, who stood above him.
"I... I don't know." Swap said, dropping his head to his chest and braced himself for one of them to hit him right then and there.
"Whaddaya mean ya don't know?" Horror growled.
"Dream would just bring me a bunch of ingredients that I had no idea what they were and tell me to make something with them. I don't know what they were, he would never tell me." Swap admitted. "I'm sorry. You'd need to get him in here."
"Of course." Killer said, throwing his arms into the air in frustration.
"We have a lot of ingredients here from previous failed remedies. If you saw them could you recognise them?" Nightmare asked, his tentacles tracing against the cuffs tying his wrists down.
"If... if you have everything, probably. I've made it enough that I know how everything looks, feels, tastes. I couldn't tell you what you were missing, just that something is and what it looks like."
"Good." Nightmare said, using his tentacles to unlock the cuffs.
Swap stood up cautiously, looking around to the men who stared at him with a bloodlust he could not describe. Nightmare wrapped his tentacle around his spine and dragged him along behind him.
