Nightmare and Killer helped Ink into the living room. They walked him over to a single chair, the one that Nightmare usually sat on.

"Pff, you ok Ink?" Dust asked.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Ink responded

"We could hear you guys from down here, also all the shit around Inks neck." Cross snickered.

  "O-ohhh" Killer mumbled.

"Didn't think Boss would share him all that easy. Not with you anyway." Dust joked.

  "Ha ha, very funny."

Killer rolled his eyes and flipped Dust off. Dust poked out his tongue playfully and rested his head against his hand.

“I have an announcement so stop being annoying little children and listen up.” Nightmare said, immediately grabbing the attention of everyone in the room.

Killer and Dust stopped their joking spat and decided it was better to just listen to their boss. Especially when he was using his ‘angry Boss voice’ as they called it. Nightmare placed his hand on Inks back, though not bothering to fully look at him.

“I would like to formally introduce you to the newest member of the Bad Sanses.” He said, a smile creeping onto his face.

The men in the room stopped in shock. They all gave the two suspicious looks. Why would Ink-the protector of aus-join a group of murdering psychopaths?

“I-I’m not killing anyone, or stopping my job or anything. I’m just not going with Dream and Swap anymore.” Ink muttered, hoping that no one would get mad at him not wanting to stop his job. “The creators are assholes,” he added “they’d probably hurt me if I stoppped.”

“Hurt you?” Cross asked, leaning into the conversation.

“Let’s say you guys killing people doesn’t just hurt them, it has… other effects on other people. And the creators are and always have been assholes.” Ink mumbled, crossing his arms to maybe help with how uncomfortable he was at this moment.

The last time he’d mentioned anything like this happening, Dream shut him down, didn’t believe him. He didn’t really think they’d believe him, Dream never really believed anything he said. Ink didn’t want to go into any more detail, he didn’t want to ruin the good thing he had here. I mean, Ink talking about his emotions and what they did to him had been the beginning of the end in his relationship with Dream. He didn't want to fuck this up this quickly.

"Really?" Error asked, concerned that his actions caused Ink a lot of pain.

“Yeahhh, don’t worry about it though. I just need to keep fighting against you and protecting the aus.” Ink said, a sad smile on his face.

"Alright then. That’s alright, I think we can stand you still doing your job. We obviously don't want you getting hurt." Nightmare said, giving Ink the nicest smile he could muster through his obvious worry.

“Fighting with Dream and Swap?” Dust asked.

Ink sighed and nodded at him hesitantly. He really didn’t want to fight alongside them-let alone see them-after what happened last time. He easily-and correctly-guessed Dream would be pissed off with him and would try to bring him ‘home’. Ink really didn’t want to go back with Dream. He knew that the second he was dragged back into that house he was going to get screamed at.

He didn’t realize how toxic his and Dreams' relationship had become until he was treated nicely. He was being treated nicely by people who spent their entire relationship trying to kill him instead of his literal best friend. They didn’t immediately yell at him. They didn’t start a fight. They were concerned about him. Well, at least Ink thought they did from the looks on their faces. He was never that good at telling other people's emotions.

But in this case it was true. He was cared about. He was saying he had to do something that goes completely against what they want and they weren’t starting anything. Yeah, it may be basic decency, but it seems like Ink doesn't get much of that.

Ink looked between every person there, waiting for one of them to start yelling at him. It didn’t happen, no one yelled, nothing happened. Ink dropped his head onto his chest and covered his mouth with his hand. He tried to hold back tears, he was just expecting to get screamed at. Ink doesn’t know how to handle the severe lack of verbal abuse, and he’s honestly so relieved about it.

Nightmare wrapped a tentacle around Ink in as comforting of a manner as he could muster. Ink placed his hand over the tentacle lightly and his tears started to fall. The gang all looked at each other in worry, they did not expect him to start crying.

“You don't have to fight on Dream’s side!” Cross said frantically, thinking that was what was upsetting him.

“I-it’s not that…” Ink mumbled through his tears.

“What then Ink?” Killer asked, walking over to him and kneeling down.

  “I just… I thought you’d yell at me…” Ink muttered.

“Why would we yell at you?” Cross asked.

“Dream does when I talk about what the creators do to me…”

  “WHAT!?” Nightmare screamed, Ink flinching.

Killer took Inks' hand and squeezed it tightly. He gave Nightmare a look and picked Ink up bridal style.

“How about we get you some food, huh?” Killer asked, gesturing for Horror to come to the kitchen with him.

Horror quickly complied and followed Killer to the kitchen. The rest of the men left in there were all giving Nightmare looks that varied from angry to disappointed.

“Boss, he literally just said he got yelled at.” Dust said, figuring out from the look on his face that he had no idea what he did.

Nightmare quickly realized his mistake and dropped his head to his chest in disappointment. He sighed, disappointed at his own lack of attention, even though he was able to feel his emotions.

“Shit.” Nightmare cursed under his breath.

He ended up leaving, going back to his office to try and figure out the best way to calm himself down. He was still filled with anger at what Dream did to him. He knew if he tried to apologize in this state he’d choke and probably just run away without saying anything. It happens every damn time he apologizes when he’s angry.

So, he just ran off to his office to calm himself down.
