Varien and 7 Minutes Dead: Mirai Sekai Part 3: Aeon Metropolis

The right stabilizer/wing of the transport was torn to pieces as the explosion ripped it apart. The transport pitched right and spiraled toward the ground. Braken was thrown into the wall seperating the cockpit from the rest of the ship, and woke up.

"TRISTAM!!! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU IF WE SURVIVE THIS!!!!" he yelled from the front of the ship. Unfortunately, his grip slipped, and Braken was hurled out of the front of the ship. The city of Aeon Metropolis lay 30,000 feet below him.

Braken sighed, then rolled his eyes. "Only one way out of this, that doesn't involve dying. This is gonna hurt..."

Two white, feathery wings tore their way out of Braken's back, and stopped his fall. Rezonate the pheonix flew up next to him, and stared at the new appendages for a few moments. "This explains why you were constantly complaining that your back hurt. Cm' on, we've got a ship full of friends to save."

The two of them flew back up, where they were joined by Laszlo and his jetpack. "Hey guys, there's a parachute on the back, but I'm gonna need some help pulling it open." Rezonate and Braken nodded, then flew over to help.

Lazlo's suit's cannon on his right arm made it awkward pulling stuff, so Braken and Reoznate had to pull them open. The parachutes deployed, which made it easier for Stonebank and PYLOT to bring the transport down safely.

Of course, it did still crash into the side of the power generation facility, and right in the middle of a group of guards.

The Monstercat crew surged out of the back of the crashed ship, and quickly killed or knocked out the guards surrounding them. The area was quickly secured, and Monstercat and the Pegboard Nerds went over to a map of the building on the wall.

"We're three levels above the actual reactor, so we need to find a way down," Mike pointed to their location on the map, and then to the location of the reactor.

"Can't we just smash the floor or something? That would be wayyyyy faster, you know?" Alex asked. Monstercat sighed. "For the millionth time Alex: no. It's too dangerous. We don't know what-REALLY?!?!"

Alex had ignored him, and had also knocked open a large hole in the floor with his hammer. He had also fallen through to the corridor below. Alex looked up at his friends who had gathered around the hole. "Hey guys! It's safe down here! You commin' or what?"

Monstercat sighed. "Let's just go, before he manages to destroy something important..." The rest of them jumped down the hole after Alex.

Monstercat then turned to his team. "For my plan to work, its' best that we have only the people we need. Tristam, Varien, Mike, Alex, Muzzy, and Braken, you're comming with me. The rest of you, get to safety. Got it?" There were a few discontented grumbles, but aside from that, they did as they were told.

The seven of them followed Monstercat deeper into the facility. Alex had been forbidden from breaking anything else, as Monstercat feared that it would make too much noise, and alert to the guards to their location. The group had sneaked down to the reactor level, and the reactor itself lay only about 100 feet away from them.

"Muzzy, do you have the explosives?" Monstercat whispered. Muzzy grinned, and pulled onee out of his pack. "Why would I ever go anywhere without them?"

"Wait, you go to the bathroom with your explosives? What if it blows up while you're trying to-" Alex began. Mike slapped his hand over Alex's mouth as a guard walked by. "Keep it down, loudmouth." Varien sighed. He was dressed in a long black cloak with a hood that covered his entire body, except for his hands. They were pale and bony, and the right one held a scythe.

"Could we please just get a move on?" Varien asked. Monstercat nodded. "Right. Varien and Tristam, take the guys on the left. Mike and Alex, take care of the ones just above us. I'll go right with Braken. Muzzy, while the guards are distracted with us, you go in and slip the exlposives onto the reactor. Make it someplace where they won't find it easily." The group nodded. "Okay? On my mark..." There was a tense silence.
