Mini-Series: Searching For a Cure

Episodes 4,5, & 6

"I highly dislike this plan."

The buzzcut-haired teenager gave her a pointed look as if he was going to respond with his typical sarcastic tones, but then his eyes grew wide. "Get down."

She frowned. "Huh?" The sound of a slamming door soon came, causing her to understand - Doctor Conrad Fenris was leaving his house. The trio hunched down in their seats, but because she was in the back (as usual), she could peek over slightly. The middle-aged man climbed down the veranda steps and walked right through his lawn toward his vehicle. He disappeared for a moment from her view behind vegetation-covered railings. Soon his headlights were turned on, followed by the sound of the ignition, and he drove out of his driveway.

As soon as the teenagers felt he was far enough from their sight, they sat up, giving each other a knowing look - It was time to move. Stiles' ingenious plan was to break into Doctor Fenris' household while he was gone and scavenge the place for anything werewolf-related that could help them find a cure or at least figure out more about werewolves. They had no idea where the doctor was going, so Thaís hoped that he would take his time, enough for them to leave before he could find them in or anywhere around his property.

The three scurried toward a wooden gate leading into the older man's backyard. Thaís grimaced as chains rattled as Stiles opened the door. They tip-toed toward the house's illuminated back porch. This man had several trees around his porch; thick branches were practically coiling around some pillars.

"This is a bad idea," Scott sighed anxiously.

She narrowed her eyes at the boy. "I literally rejected his idea before the lightbulb went off."

"You guys say that about all my ideas," Stiles remarked, unimpressed.

"That's because they're all bad ideas." Scott deadpanned, making the girl titter.

Stiles spun to confront him. "Well, you learn more from failures than successes." He raised his thumbs and smiled innocently before turning toward the porch.

"You must be a genius by now." Scott jested, smirking cockily.

Thaís finally laughed. "Right on." The teaser's smile only expanded with pride. Stiles halted in his spot before swiveling back around, giving her a severe look for encouraging the latter's lame jokes. She smirked, biting her lip to pause the laughter.

The buzzcut-haired cocked his head, challenging her to continue. After a few moments of her suppressing, he just smirked and motioned them forward, "Let's just go."

"Okay." Scott exhaled.

The two werewolves followed Stiles up the porch and to the door. Through the glass, they could see the doctor had left his lights turned on, possibly to give the impression someone was home and ward off intruders. Thaís looked inside - right into the kitchen - trying to see if someone else was inside, perhaps someone else lived in the place. It looked empty, and her werewolf hearing didn't detect anyone else. Stiles tried opening the door, but to no luck, the door didn't budge.

This seemed like the perfect opportunity. She sighed dramatically, walking toward the steps. "Well, looks like it's locked... to the car."

"No, no, no," Stiles muttered, pulling her back. Turning around, she narrowed her eyes and went to argue as to why this was the worst idea he's ever had... maybe not the worst, but it was terrible. Instead of coinciding to listen - as always - Stiles removed his flannel and began wrapping it around his hand. Scott and Thaís shared a confused gaze.
