Episode: The Tell

My mom had worked all night. It was a pretty busy night, and we left her job at like four AM. She was at home sleeping; she wouldn't be going to work until tomorrow. I had managed to get my mom to let me go to school today and even drive her car - She had tried to hold me back, telling me that maybe I would be too nervous. But I convinced her. Getting to school without almost having an accident was quite an accomplishment. Why? Because my mom was right, and I was still on edge over the occurrence last night, looking left and right where ever I was. Yet, I didn't want to miss anything.

"Oh goodness, Thaís." I heard while I was at my locker, gathering my books and leaving Allison's gift inside - Lydia told me it was her birthday today. My head turned to see who it was, but I was engulfed in an embrace. My lips curled, catching Asher's familiar scent. A fuzz formed in my chest, warming me. His embrace felt amazing in a moment like this. He pulled away from me slightly, a tinge of worry in his eyes. "I'm glad you're here. Are you okay? My dad told me about what happened. It sounded terrible."

"Yeah," I answered, nodding. His eyes observed me, making my cheeks burn. "I'm good."

"Thankfully." Asher smiled timidly and pursed his lips softly. A thoughtful look glazed upon his face before he began to speak, stuttering a bit, "Uh, well, I - Do you -... Did they tell you what it was?"

My eyebrows furrowed slightly, seeing his stutter. He probably wanted to say something else, but it didn't come out. My lips formed a straight line for a few seconds. "Yeah, a mountain lion."

His brows contorted to express confusion "A mountain lion? I'm surprised it didn't attack you."

"Me too," I pondered on the Alpha - It was confusing. We had no clue what it wanted or why, which scared us. I'm sure it could've killed Jackson or me. It could've shifted me into a werewolf and made me kill with him but didn't, which had to mean something. But what?

"Wanna walk with me to class?"

I blinked rapidly as Asher snapped me out of my thoughts. I smiled at him and sent a single nod his way. "Yeah, let's go." My hand closed the doors, and I was about to turn to Asher when a dark silhouette appeared at the end of the hallway. Derek. He sent me a knowing look - Maybe he just wanted to talk to me about last night.

"Are you okay?"

My eyes widened, and I turned to a worried Asher. "Yes... Yeah. I'm fine." I beamed at him, and he furrowed his eyebrows briefly before smiling at me and taking my hand. I glanced at the textbook in my hands and hummed softly. "Chemistry?... Favorite class."

Asher chuckled cutely. "It's everybody's favorite class." He joked and led me to Mr. Harris' class as we talked.

Once we entered the still semi-empty class, we took our seats. I sat in my seat next to Stiles, who seemed annoyed and was eyeing up at something in front of us, his eye somewhat twitching. I frowned, glancing over, but there was nothing except the board and Asher talking to his desk partner, Isaac. "Hey, you alright?" I spoke, causing Stiles' eyes to look at me.

"Huh? Me? Yeah... Totally." He replied, a smile now formed. I sat next to him, smiling back. "Are you alright?"

"I'm still scared. Not as much as last night." I placed my book in front of me as he sent me a comforting smile. My eyebrows knit together as I glanced around the room. "Where's Scott?"

Stiles shrugged. "Don't know... With Allison, probably."

I hummed, nodding to myself. "Yeah, it's her birthday today." He hummed back, surprised.
