Episode: Wolf's Bane

Thaís was walking to her locker to grab her binder when she heard the sound of Lydia arguing. Worriedly, she glanced at the couple that stood in the middle of the hallway, students making their way around them.

"This little text – Not funny." The strawberry blonde hissed, raising her phone.

"No, I wasn't trying to be funny." Jackson explained, "I would've put a 'ha-ha' at the end of it. And, see, there's no 'ha-ha'."

"'Lydia, please give back my spare house key at your earliest convenience – As we are no longer dating?'" The young girl read off the phone. Thaís' eyes widened in disbelief, feeling terrible that she was in this predicament.

Jackson nodded, acknowledging that she read it correctly, "You didn't lose it, did you?"

"What the hell is this?" Lydia questioned in a whisper. She was pissed off and hurt.

"Well, Lydia, in preparation for some big changes, I've decided to drop some of the dead weight in my life. And you're just about the deadest."

Thaís scoffed, "Douchebag." She muttered annoyedly - Lydia Martin didn't need Jackson. In fact, he was the dead weight, and she was much more intelligent than him.

"Are you breaking up with me?" Her words were low and pained. Those had to be the cruelest words.

Jackson smirked, "Dumping, actually. I'm dumping you." He was about to leave, but Lydia grabbed him roughly by the jacket, bringing him back.

"Dumped by the co-captain of the lacrosse team." She scoffed, "I wonder how many minutes it'll take to get over that..." Jackson shrugged and blew her a kiss to mock her before leaving. "Wait, seconds, actually. Seconds!"

Jackson passed by Thaís with a smirk on his face, entirely unfazed by Lydia's comment - Not a worry in his mind. The brunette narrowed her eyes, astounded by his lack of heart. It's normal for people to break up, but the way he did it was brutal. He had nearly everything he needed but was still unsatisfied and treated everyone like a waste. He had parents who wanted him, who made a stable wage, and although money wasn't the most important, it made life easier. He had a beautiful girlfriend. Lydia Martin was not always agreeable, but she was ridiculously confident, intelligent, and capable of greatness. But he only showed her and every one his cold heart - That couldn't be good for anyone, not even him.

The brunette closed her locker and made her way over to a flustered Lydia. Deep inside, Thaís knew Lydia didn't mean what she had said to Jackson and questioned how somebody could have patience for a boy that didn't treat them right. Lydia finally noticed her friend beside her, and her expression forcefully changed from confused to one that portrayed a fake smile. Her facade of being okay rose again, and Thaís felt terrible. Just because she was popular, it didn't mean she had to hide her feelings or pretend to be strong.

"Are you okay?" Thaís questioned worriedly.

Green eyes stared for a minute before Lydia pursed her lips and gave her a stiff nod. "Yeah, I'm fine... Perfect, actually." She smiled before walking away, leaving the latter to frown and watch her silhouette disappear down the hallway.

Stiles had given me a ride to his home to do our homework together. It was awkward not to tell him what I had seen with Lydia and Jackson because I knew it would make him happy. But at the same time, I couldn't do that - Lydia was my friend, and if I just went around telling people about her personal life, it's like betrayal.
