Chapter 17

Xavier

Nakatayo ako ngayon sa harap ng ospital at nakatingin sa baril na hawak ni Seine. Pagkatapos ko makita ang pagkahiwalay ng kamay ni Marcus, masyado akong natakot. I lost my concentration, thus, resulting to my inability to see their present state. However, one fact was clear. They were in danger.

Mabilis na pinatakbo ni Madame Eloisa ang sasakyan patungo sa ospital. Yes, you read that right. A 72 year old grandmother was our driver but she drove with enough speed and ferocity to put professional racers in shame.

Fortunately, we found Serene in time. Seine shot the gun out of Mr. Villanueva's hand, causing him to drop it. Hindi ko inakala na magaling pala si Seine na bumaril.

"My father taught me for self defense," she said in response to what I thought.

"Xavier, Seine..." Serene paused, her face in shock. "GRANDMA?!"

Tumakbo siya papunta sa amin, yinayakap pa rin ni Mr. Villanueva ang anak niya. Mukhang nabigla siya na makita kami rito. For a few moments, I was relieved. Then, I realized something important.

"Serene... Nasaan na si Zero at Marcus?"

Hindi siya kaagad nakasagot sa akin pero nakita ko na sa mga mata niya ang sagot sa tanong ko. Hindi... Hindi pwedeng wala na sila... Hindi pa sila patay...

"I'm sorry... Xavier... I failed you!", iyak ni Serene.

"No!" sigaw ko pabalik."They can't die, not yet. Buhay pa sila. Say it, Serene. Buhay pa sila!"

"Xav..." bulong ni Serene.

Seine dropped on her knees and screamed. Serene's tears overflowed from her eyes and kept mumbling 'sorry' several times.

Zero... Marcus... Bakit? Bakit namatay na kayo? I can't accept this, not this fate, not their deaths. Zero... you promised me that you won't die.

"Anong iniiyak niyo sa parking lot?" a familiar voice said.

I turned around and saw them, Zero and Marcus.

Before I could react, Seine rushed towards them, her hand stretched outward. I thought she was going to hug him but I was quite surprised when her fist connected with Zero's stomach. The poor guy crumpled on the ground.

"Don't ever scare me like that again!" she screamed with her face still wet with tears.

Dahan-dahan si Zero na tumayo, akala ko magagalit siya pero ngumiti lang siya kay Seine. "I told you, I won't die."

Serene hugged Marcus and checked his hand, it was perfectly fine and still intact. He explained to me that they used Serene's saliva to reattach it and Zero bought them time by shooting at the lady. She was unscathed but she had no choice but to utilize her pets as shields and, although they were bullet proof, this made them unable to move unless she wants to get hit. Within a few seconds, Marcus managed to put them to sleep. Just because she had some resistance doesn't mean she was immune to his ability.

"Anong gagawin natin sa kanila?" tanong ni Seine.

"We need to make kuha the girl because she's like cursed. Lily will probably be patay if left alone for a few days."

Nabigla kami sa sinabi ni Serene. Cursed din si Lily? Bakit? Paano?

"It's your decision," sabi ko sa kay Mr. Villanueva. "Magtitiwala ka ba sa amin o pababayaan mo lang na mamatay ang anak mo?"

"Paano ko naman masisiguro na totoo ang sinasabi niyo?"

"Grr, this make mo so inis. Can't we make him tulog here then get his daughter? That man just tried to patay me!" Serene reasoned out.
