Chapter 21

Seine

I gazed at the chandelier while I was sprawled on my bed. How did this vacation turn out to be so stressful? In the first place, how can someone be a traitor without me finding out. The only logical answer is Zero because, for some reason, I can't hear his thoughts.

However, we ruled him out of our suspicions because we believed he isn't the traitor. Well, it's not fully without reason. My intuition jut tells me that he won't betray us. If Zero isn't the traitor, then who is? And how did they get past my ability?

My bedroom door flew open and Serene rushed in with all her new dresses. Oh, I mean my new dresses. She stubbornly bought me clothes even though I said I didn't need them.

"Seine, like oh my gosh. I saw a sale online and it was like super cheap lang kaya."

"Thanks, Serene. Pero hindi ko pa naman kailangan ng bagong damit."

She pouted at me. "Seine, you need to make maganda yourself para ma-inlabubu sa iyo ang crush mo."

"I told you, hindi ko na gusto si Clayton. Matagal na iyon."

She looked at me funny. "I wasn't referring to Clayton kaya."

Tatanungin ko pa siya sana kung sino ang ibig sabihin niya pero pumasok si Tranquil sa loob. "Ate, iniistorbo mo naman ba si Ate Seine?"

Oh gosh, hindi ko pa naranasan na matawag na Ate Seine. Parang ang gandang pakinggan. Too bad I didn't have any siblings.

"It's you naman pala, Quill. Me is not making istorbo ha. We're talking about girly things kaya so you better go na."

Napabuntong hininga naman si Tranquil,. "Hinahanap kita kasi dumating na yung scones na gusto mo."

Serene's eyes lit up when she heard this. "Oh my gosh, talaga ba? Seine, me is gonna make kuha na scones muna. Try the outfits ha. Babalik ako later."

With that final line, she happily walked her way out of the room. I gave out a sigh as I looked at all the clothes she gave me.

"Pagpasensiyahan mo na yung ate ko," sabi ni Tranquil. "Her last friend died because of her and, after that, she didn't make any friends. Natakot siya na baka matulad lang sila kay Chaos."

Chaos? Iyan ba ang pangalan ng kaibigan ni Serene?

"It's okay. To tell you the truth, I'm grateful to Serene because she somehows eases my loneliness."

Tranquil smiled at me. "Well, that makes the two of you. Gusto mo bang kunin ko na ang nga damit?"

"It's okay, tama lang na tanggapin ko ang mga binigay niya sa akin."

Aalis na sana siya ng may bigla ko siyang tinawag ulit. "Tranquil, isa kang mabuting kapatid kay Serene."

Nabigla naman siya siguro sa sinabi ko dahil napatigil siya sa paglakad niya. "Well, she is my sister."

After Tranquil left, Serene came back with a platter of scones and several jars of jams. She talked a lot and seemed genuinely happy. She managed to convince me to try the outfits and we were having a fashion show in no time at all.

I was getting engulfed by the flow and emotions, I posed with full confidemce in front of the door when it suddenly opened.

Zero's surprised face greeted my awkward position and he blinked a few times as if he was still asleep.

"Kulang lang siguro ako sa kape," he said as he closed the door.

"Sandali!!!!!"

I was too late. Sometimes, it's much more humiliating when no one comments on your actions when you are fully aware that its shameful.
