Hunter's POV
Ben punched my face, each time harder than the last. Despite my efforts, tears were cascading down my cheeks. I was screaming at him to stop but he wasn't listening.
I was sweating really hard and blood was pouring out of my nose almost as fast as the tears from my eyes. "STOP!" I screamed again. I fell to the ground. He kicked my ribs. I couldn't breathe at all. "I...give up. Y-you...w-win," I surrendered, closing my eyes.

"Hunter! Hunter!" a voice called. My eyes snapped open. It was just a dream. I was sweaty and my eyes burned. My face was sticky. I had been crying. "Hunter! Baby, what's wrong?" Jana asked, lightly laying on top of me, her hand cupping my cheek.
"J-just a n-nightmare," I responded, shivering. "I'm sorry. Oh, God, I'm so sorry," I said, embarrassed. I had woken her up, probably screaming.
"No, no, no, don't ever apologize." She gently ran her fingers through the hair stuck to my forehead, caressing my skin with her fingers with every movement. She pressed her warm, soft lips to my own chapped ones. This gesture caused me to melt inside and sparks to fly. It made me forget the bad dream and my current state, black-eyed and breathless.
I bit my lip and looked up at Jana. I wanted to kiss her again, to continue where we left off earlier tonight, but I felt as if I could not move another muscle in my body.
I tried to lean up, but I fell back onto the seat. Jana laughed and kissed my lips again and this time I kissed her back, our lips pressing against one another's, fitting perfectly.
When she pulled away, her hair fell in my face, tickling my nose. I giggled and tucked her hair behind her ears. Even small things like this were bold moves for me, considering I had never had a true girlfriend. I was still learning how this worked.
"You're so beautiful," I whispered. She shook her head in response. She laid her head on my chest and placed her hand on my stomach, sore from the series of events that had unraveled just hours before.
I sighed and wrapped my arms around Jana. This sleep was more peaceful and, for the first time in days, didn't cause a nightmare.
