Hunter's POV

Jana had been gone for hours now. I had called her over and over, but she never answered. As I sat alone in math, she was all I could think about.

"Class is dismissed. Have a good day, no homework tonight!" Mr. Briggs said. I jumped out of my seat, grabbing my bag and answering the phone.

"Hello?" I asked the unknown number.

"Is this Mr. Hunter Hayes?" a male voice asked.

"Yes..."

"Jana Turner has just been admitted into the hospital."

"Oh my God, what happened?!" I asked, already heading towards the door. "Is she okay!?!"

"We found her on the hood of her car that was flipped over in a ditch. She's in a coma and has a broken leg. Luckily, we can hear a heartbeat."

"Oh my God. Thank you for letting me know, I'm on my way." I hung up the phone. My face was already stained with tears as I got into my car. I stopped myself from sobbing. I had to be strong for Jana and her family.

The hospital was really close to school so at the speed I was going, I was there in no time.

I ran into the lobby, wiping the warm tears from my sticky face. Mrs. Turner was in the lobby waiting for me. I pulled her into a tight hug. I had met her several times and despite how little I was, her short stature made me feel tall. She was as short as Jana.

"Thank you so much for coming," she said, hugging me again.

"Don't thank me. Is she okay?"

"Honestly, I don't know."

"Do you want to see her?" Mrs. Turner asked me.

I gulped. "Yes." Mrs. Turner lead me to a quiet room in the ICU.

Jana laid in a short hospital bed with her arms at her side. Her heart rate was being monitored. Her eyes were tightly shut and her chest rose and fell unsteadily.

"Oh my God," I whispered as I dove to her bedside. I got down on my knees and grabbed her hand.

"I'll give you some privacy," Mrs. Turner said through tears, shutting the door behind her.

I kissed Jana's hand and then her lips. "I love you so much. I love you, I love you, I love you. You're going to make it through this. You're strong. And I'm not going anywhere."

Tears streamed down my face. I was silently crying next to my girlfriend that could possible never wake up.
