Part XXII

Jennie Kim

"New partner, Kim?" one of the managers says as soon as I get out of Jisoo's car.

"More like a new private doctor." Lisa nudges him and I roll my eyes when they start laughing.

"You're right, Limario." I backhug Jisoo as we walk to the elevator.

"Yes, Jennie Kim now has a private doctor all to herself." Jisoo turns to me, hugging me and leaning my head against her chest.

"Jen, won't you unglue her? You already spend all your time together. How are you going to rehearse and get stuck in JiChu?"

"I'm making up for all the years I lost" I pout "I can't let her go." Jisoo starts to laugh and presses me against her.

"Not really, because I won't let you go either." She says looking into my eyes and my smile gets huge.

"You guys are such a nut," Lisa rolls her eyes.

"Your floor, Kim." the manager says and I take Jisoo's hand, pulling it out.

"What are your plans for today?"

"I'll record some tracks with Teddy Oppa, then lunch, then I'll go over some choreography and I think that's it. And you?" I turn to her before knocking on the studio door.

"I'll watch mandu diaries." she says and I roll my eyes, laughing afterwards.

She rests a hand on my cheek and brings her face close to mine, making my heart start beating faster.

Jisoo just presses her lips to mine, even with such a simple action, my whole body seems to be ecstatic as I feel this yummy heat spread through her.

"Good luck baby, your day is going to be wonderful and productive, and I hope it's as beautiful as you're." She says softly and rubs the tip of her nose against mine.

"You don't need much to make me breathless, do you?"

"You do much worse to me and you don't even know it." She shrugs and the door opens.

"It's been a while, Kim." Teddy says smiling.

"I hurt..."

"No, Jen, not you." he laughs "Kim Jisoo. My favorite idol."

"I thought I was your favorite idol." I cross my arms when entering the room.

"You are when Jisoo is not here." they hug.

"Teddy, you were one of the people I missed the most." I raise an eyebrow at her "After Jennie, of course."

"I'm glad you two are finally together. It was frustrating to see you sighing for each other and no one had the courage to do anything." he looks at us in disapproval "Who kissed who?"

"What you think?" Jisoo tosses her hair to the side as she collapses on the couch "Of course was Jennie who attacked me, she was never good at controlling her emotions." I roll my eyes when they start laughing.

"Shall we record? I was away for a long time and we have a lot of things to update." I cross my arms and Teddy leaves to turn on the equipment.

"I'm finally going to kill the longing I was hearing you sing." Jisoo says while fiddling with her cell phone.

"You never said that, if you had, I would have sung for you."

"I know, Jendeukie, but when we're alone, I forget about these things because I just want to hear another melody coming out of your lips." She smiles at me and I feel my cheeks heat up.

"Jen, come on!" Teddy says and I leave as fast as possible, leaving a Kim Jisoo, laughing at my shyness, behind.

At the end of my dance practice, I look around, looking for Jisoo, but no sign of her. I gather my things, and when I leave the room, I see her pacing up and down the hall, talking rapidly on phone.

If anyone listened to her like that, she would probably be the greatest rapper in the world. As always, the sinister sixth sense that binds us together seems to alert me to my presence and she smiles at me, ending the call in the face of the person on the other end of the line.

"Everything okay?" I say as she approaches, taking my backpack and leaving me with only the water bottle.

"Yeah, I was just discussing some hypotheses about a case." She shrugs and takes my hand as we walk to the elevator.

"And who was it?"

"Soojoo." she says naturally and turns to me "As you will be busy with your intense activities in preparation for returning to the stage, I offered to help her with this case."

"What?! You're on vacation, you shouldn't be working." I try to contain my anger. Why is she always coming back to Soojoo's side? She promised me that we would spend her vacation together.

"Yes, but as I'm going to accompany you on your activities and I spend a lot of free time, I thought I'd go to the hospital tomorrow and get the files to outline possible hypotheses" she says with such excitement, her eyes shining with excitement.

"And how does it work?" I try to divert my thoughts from jealousy. At least Jisoo will spend time with me and not that slut who is trying to take my Chu back to her arms.

"I'll take the files and study them, research and think about the reasons that led the patient to develop this problem" she shakes our hands, like a child excited to see Santa Claus "After I manage to do this, I'll think about which ones treatments are possible to be performed and Soojoo will present to the patient and their family."

"But what about your credit for discovering all this? Does she keep everything?" I frown in confusion.

"That's silly Jendeukie" she smiles at me "I offered to help because I know she needs me" I mentally roll my eyes because I need Jisoo too "And because I want to help this patient. I studied and graduated for this, what interests me is taking care of people and helping them to improve." She kisses the back of my hand and I stare at her. Her eyes shine brighter now than when she sang. Jisoo really loves being a doctor.

"Does that mean you'll always be in contact with Hong?" I say with the most disinterested tone possible, as if I didn't care about it.

"A little, only when I get to the causes and then to the treatments, but if I have any tests or new information, she'll get in touch with me."

"You'll be on vacation for three months and, in less than a month, I'll embark with the girls for the tour, which will last at least three months." She frowns when she hears me.

"Huh, it's true." she sighs "I'll go with you and spend the last two months of my vacation with you, that's good, because that way I can watch over you and take care of your health properly. I'll be more reassured knowing that my mandu is receiving all the necessary care."

"You always took good care of me." My heart is so melted after hearing this unintentional statement from Jisoo that I end up sighing.

"I'll always take care of you, it's a promise I'll never break." She smiles at me and it's like fireworks are exploding around us as we stare at each other.
