Sat on my bed with my legs crossed surrounded by paper, paper and more paper would seem like a nightmare to me. But just a couple of inches away is Noah Blair. He's sat in front of me, mirroring my position. Also drowning in paper.
I was scribbling notes on to my paper as he spoke.
"The Wall Street Crash of 1929, also known as Black Tuesday, the Great Crash, or the Stock Market Crash of 1929, began in late October 1929 and was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its fallout. Do you understand that?" He asked gazing into my eyes. I lost track of though for a moment."...y-yeah" I didn't. Well that's a lie I did kind of did understand that. "But what made it happen? That's what I don't understand."
"The 1929 Stock Market crash was a result of various economic imbalances and structural failings. Do you get that?"
"Yeah but that didn't answer my question..." I trailed off.
"Yes it did." He argued.
"No it didn't. What started the economic imbalances?"
"I just told you."
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did."
"No you didn't." We stared into each other's eyes. I started chuckling at the angry face he was pulling.
"Why are you laughing?" He asked.
"Because your face it looks so angry. Sorry... I shouldn't be laughing, your trying your best and it's not your fault I'm a stupid woman."
"Your not a stupid woman, your far for it. Come on we can get through it." He smiled sweetly at me.
"Yeah... Okay, yeah."
"As early as 1926, there were signs that the boom was under threat - this was seen in the collapse of land prices in Florida.
Eventually, there were too many goods being made and not enough people to buy them... Do you get that sweetie?" I actually did. He explained that well. My heart fluttered when he called me sweetie."Y-yeah." I stutter as my breathing was going crazy.
"No you don't, why did your stutter?" A blush creeped it's way on to my cheeks.
"No I do understand. Continue." I wrote down notes on what he just told me.
"Farmers had produced too much food in the 1920s, so prices for their produce became steadily lower.
There were too many small banks - these banks did not have enough funds to cope with the sudden rush to take out savings, which happened in the autumn of 1929." I nodded as I continued writing. We had been studying for a good hour now and I kind of felt like having a break.
I stared at him as he kept on rambling about nothing. He looked so cute and so into what he was talking about. Everything left like it was moving in slow motion. His soft hair was messily pushed to the side as though he had been running his hand through it one to many times, his full lips softly move as he explains the Wall Street crash.
"Are you listening to me?"
"Yeah sorry!"
"No you weren't. You were too busy checking me out!"
"No I wasn't! I was not checking you out, get over yourself." I tried my hardest for my blush not to return to my face. I didn't succeed.
"Yeah you were. I see that blush on your cheeks." He tickled my cheeks lightly and that made me blush more under his touch.
"Emma... Do I make you nervous?" He leaned in so he was about three inches away from my face. I bit my lip. I shook my head slightly.
