You know that awful sinking feeling you get when something bad happens, or something you don't want to happen happens. For example, when you miss an episode of your favourite TV show, or you accidentally leave your baby on the bus, or when the schools hottest and most popular boy comes around for dinner. With his parents!
Yep that one is defiantly the worst... Okay maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But you see my point.
My palms became clammy, my heart skipped a beat as the sudden realisation that Noah Blair, was coming around for dinner.
"Emma! What did I just say? Go up stairs and change they'll be here in about an hours time!" My mother states. I climbed up the stairs in protest grunting all the way.
Standing inside my wardrobe with a judgemental expression plastered on my face, hands on my hips as i critiqued every item of clothing.
My hands scanned through, softly grazing along them. They stopped when they landed on a item of clothing which could be exceptable. It was a black skirt with floral prints all over. I held it up against my body! Yep it was perfect. I paired it with some sheer tights and black ankle booties.
Now I just need to find something to wear on the top, unless you plan on going in your matching black lace bra Emma!
I picked up a simple white shirt with a decorative collar. I pulled on a coral sweater on top. It looked good. I looked like the perfect eldest child.
I decided on curling my hair so it ran down my back in loose curls. I applied my make up adding a soft berry pink colour to my lips.
When I was done my mother demanded I help her get Olive and Summer ready. My dad was helping Jacob get ready.
Ding dong. My breathing hitched, my palms started too sweat. I took deeper and deeper breathes in an attempt to calm myself. Why was I getting nervous? My parents invited strangers around quite often. It wasn't unusual, I had to get dressed up for dinner quite often.
I pinned it on the fact that I was going to have to charm the pants off of Mr and Mrs Blair. But then that annoying voice inside my head decided to speak up.
'No, it's because you like Noah! And you want to make a good impression!'No! I defiantly don't like Noah. All I want to be is friends. But when that door was opened I couldn't help how I stopped breathing as the tension was building.
Almost immediately, my gaze drifted up to Noah's eyes. They looked lighter today, more like a caramel colour. By God did he look hot today... He was wearing a tight fitted white shirt which hugged his torso and biceps. He rolled the sleeves up to his elbows which made him look ten times hotter. He paired the top with straight black trousers and black dinner shoes.
My gaze drifted back up as I saw possibly the most adorable toddler placed on his hip. Amber. Her dark chocolate brown hair was pulled back into a bun, she had a cute ladybird hair clip holding back fly aways. She was dressed in a cute little summer dress with daisies on it and cute white strap up shoes. In attempt to keep her warm she had on a red coat with a faux fur lining.
Her glass like eyes gleamed as she gazed at us all confused. She offered me a small smile, I smiled back and she giggled slightly. I brought my gaze back up to Noah's face, moving over his eyes and then focusing on his plump lips.
I offered him a small smile and thankfully he returned it.
Looking back to his parents, his dad was dressed similarly to him, while my mom was dressed similarly to his mother. They both opted for smart dinner dresses and black heels.
