I couldn't possible describe to you just how much I wanted to stay in my bed and curl up into a ball and never come out of my room.
And there aren't enough words in all of the languages combined to tell you how much I don't want to go to school today. But I have too.
When my mom came home yesterday I tried to play the sick card and usually that works but then she wanted to take my temperature and check if I had a rash. That would mean lifting up my top and she would see the bruises and freak out.
Today I decided to wear light blue second skin skinny jeans and my white knit sweater with my same old brown lace up ankle booties. I put my hair into a messy side braid and left it that. I was early so I decided to have breakfast with my family for the first time in ages.
"Hello honey! How are you feeling?" My mother spoke softly.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good now." I smiled back at her.
"Here baby have some cereal." She handed me a bowl of lucky charms and smiled."
"Thanks." I sat down and munched my way through. I was a lot hungrier than I thought.
In walked my annoying but totally loveable little brother, he grabbed a bowl of cereal and sat down next to me. I ruffled his hair and gave him a big smile
"Eww! Get off Emma! Your so disgusting!"
"No I'm not, you love me really." I smiled and kissed his cheek. He immediately groaned in disgust and wiped it frantically.
Two quick burst of a car horn made me rush out the door.
"Hey!" I smiled sheepishly.
"Listen I'm not mad at you! I'm concerned." Becky stated immediately.
"About what?" I asked.
"Yesterday, you left after lunch. I know you wouldn't do that just because you were 'ill' and if even if you were ill you would come find me to let me know your going home early and not giving me a lift home." She said.
"Oh for fuck sake! I'm so sorry I forgot it was my day." I slapped my forehead in anger.
"It's alright Nicole gave me a lift home. I was so worried about you! What happened?"
"Nothing, I guess I just ate a bad tuna roll or something." I shrugged it off.
She offered me a small smile and I returned it. She leaned in and wrapped her arms around me and buried her head into my shoulder. I hugged her back just as tight, if not tighter. We pulled back at the same time and started our journey to school.

Walking through the hallway and getting stopped every two seconds to be asked if I'm alright is getting annoying now! Three people have already embraced me and hoped that I'm okay. I'm on my fourth one now. It was Nancy Carmichael. Basically the schools bitch.
"No I'm fine! I promise! Thank you though!" I said holding back the urge to roll my eyes.
"Are you sure? Because my heart just broke when I found out that something bad happened and that you went home early. I was so worried about you! But I said a prayer for you and it must of worked because your here!" It's ironic she said a prayer for me because she's the schools harlot.
"Well thank you so much Nancy!" I said falsely.
"If you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask, you know where I am!" She smiled and hugged me again.
