Lillian smiled excitedly she placed Zane on Santa lap. Tonight was the last night to get pictures with Santa and she wanted to badly get Zane a picture of him with him. After she ate, she took a ride with Ryan to the mall where they came just in time for pictures with Santa.
“Well aren’t you adorable.”, the guy in the Santa outfit said and Zane stared up at him for a moment before grabbing some of the fake beard in his hand and put it in his mouth, chewing on it. Lillian eyes widen and she quickly pulled his hand out of his mouth and the fake beard out of his hand but he started fussing. She knew this meant he was teething because he starting to chew on stuff a lot now. “Ah, it’s alright.”, Santa said, bouncing Zane on his lap. Zane stopped fussing, but he didn’t look happy, just mad.
Lillian quickly went out of the way, standing next to Ryan again now. The guy behind the camera counted to three and snapped the picture. Zane took Santa’s hand and put his finger in his mouth and Santa quickly took his hand away. Lillian felt a little embarrassed now because of Zane’s action.
She went up to them, “Thanks Santa—Zane, let go!” she said when she grabbed him but he grabbed onto Santa’s beard again. She had to fight with Zane for a moment until he let go of the beard and she sighed, “I’m so sorry.”
“Oh, it’s no probably. I like him, he doesn’t cry like most of the little ones do.”, Santa said and chuckled in a jolly way.
She smiled, “Thanks again, have a good Christmas.”, she said and the guy that took the picture said to come back in ten minutes to get the picture.
She nodded and she placed Zane on her hip as she went to Ryan side and they walked down the mall in silence. Zane was grumpy and knew he was just in pain from his gums and he was a little tired. She walked awkwardly next to Ryan, who she didn’t speak much to tonight.
“How come you never mentioned Hanna?”, she asked.
He looked down at her confused, “I never thought I had to, she’s just someone I work with.”
Lillian shrugged, “Oh…okay.”.
“Oh come on Lil, don’t say your jealous.”, he said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “She’s a good friend, believe me.”.
“Real good friends it looks like.”, Lillian sarcastically mumbled.
Ryan chuckled, “Lillian, come on. Your just imagining things.”, he said, stopping them and he kissed her. “Lets not start fighting over something like this, okay.”.
She pursed her lips and moved them to the right, hesitating. She knew he was right though, what should they fight over something about her being paranoid. Maybe he wasn’t lying, their just friends. Why could she trust him over that? She should, she does trust Ryan.
She smiled, “Okay, your right. I’m sorry.”.
“It’s alright.”, he said.
They stopped at a juice stand and got something to drink before it closed. They sat on a bench for a couple of moment before going to get Zane’s picture. She put a finger on the top of the straw, covering it before she took it out of the cup and put a little in Zane’s mouth. He didn’t swallow it at first, it look like he was moving the cold liquid around his mouth before swallowing it down and getting some around his mouth mixed with some droll. Yuck.
Boys are so messy, she thought.
She cleaned around his mouth with a baby whip since he always throws a tantrum when she using a paper towel and it much better just to use something wet to clean him up.
While she was giving him a little more, someone came in front of her and Ryan and said her name, “Lillian?”
She looked up when she heard the male voice and she saw Duncan face. She smiled, “Oh. Hi Duncan.”, she said and she looked at the blonde women next to him. Must be his mom. She felt Ryan looking at her and she quickly introduced them, “Duncan, this is Ryan. Ryan, this is Duncan, the one who’s helping me in classes.”.
“I heard of you, nice to meet you.”, Duncan said and they both did that guy slapping him greet. “And this must be the famous Zane.”, Duncan grinned as he knelt down in front of Zane.
Lillian chuckled and took one of Zane’s arm, waving it, “Yes he is, say hi Zane!”, she said in a baby’s voice and Zane just bounced himself a little on her lap.
Duncan shook his little hand and chuckled before he got up, “This is my mom. Mom, this is Lillian.”.
The blonde lady smiled down at her, “Hello. He’s such a cutie.”, she said down to Lillian. “I haven’t seen a little boy that cute since—well, this one.”, she said, playfully pinching Duncan cheek who blush and glared at his mom as he pushed her hand away.
“Well anyways, what are you doing here?’, Duncan asked.
“I wanted Zane to get a picture with Santa before it was over. How about you?”, she asked.
“Last minute Christmas shopping.”, he sad, holding up the bag in his hand. There was an awkward silent moment then for a moment, “Okay well then, hope you three have a great Christmas. Study a little if you can Lillian while your own break.”
“Always was a fun idea but now, ugh.”, Lillian said, rolling her eyes. “But I’ll try. Have a great Christmas to.”.
They said bye to each other and when Lillian clean around Zane’s slobbery mouth, Ryan mumbled under his breath. She turned her head to him, confused, “What?”.
“He seems nice.”, he said as he stared down at his cell phone.
“Ryan?”.
He shrugged, “Nothing.”.
She continued to look at him confused for a moment before turning back to Zane, cleaning around his messy mouth. They finally got up and grabbed their picture. Lillian chuckled at the cute photo and put it in her purse. She was going to make copies tomorrow when she goes to her parents house.
Okay, guys, i'm sooo sorry it's short. I just wanted to make a chapter cause it was so long, but my favorite shows about to come on. A new season of Spartacus is coming on! Who's excited? Next chapter well be it's usually 4-5-6 pages long. (:
Also, I changed something in the last chapter. Where it said Hanna goes to the same school as them, I changed that where she goes to a catholic school and Ryan and her know each other cause they use to go the same chruch together.
Have a wonderful beautiful night!
