Okay so here's the last! Just a cute little family moment one at the end.
----
“I can't believe you and Ryan have been together for ten years.”, Jeanette said, chuckling as she put the ice tea down on the table. “And you managed not to turn into one of those women who look ten years older.”, she said to Lillian. “Still look fresh face twenty years old. Two kids and still a size six.”
Lillian chuckled as she put rinsed the dishes, “Exorcising sure helps, Jean.”
Jeanette rubbed her six month belly that had a little boy inside, “God, I can't breath sometimes. My back is killing me so all I want to do is lay down.”
“It sucks sometimes.”, she said, nodding. “Makes you wish you were one of those lucky people who are so alive and energetic.”
“Makes me want to spit on some of those women in birthing class.”, she chuckled.
“I know, it pissed me off when I went.”, Lillian said. Kenzie then ran into the kitchen and she noticed the pack of cookies on the counter. Her bright grey blue eyes light up and ran over towards it, trying to reach for it but it was to far away from her. Lillian chuckled and opened the pack of Oreo's and gave her one, “Here.”
“You sure you want to give her that? I read when your child wants something to eat you should give them an apple or banana.”, Jeanette said.
Lillian chuckled, “Believe me, it's better to give them a little cookie then an apple because they'll throw a little fit. Even her eyes sparkle when she eats one.”, she said before Mackenzie went back into the living room. “She'll work that cookie off when Ryan comes home because she always wants to wrestle now ever since Zane started watching it with Ryan.”
“Oh no, your going to have a little tomboy.”, Jeanette chuckled.
“Whatever keeps her happy.”, she said. “I wont let her play sports until she's at least twelve though.”
Jeanette leaned against the island table and smiled at Lillian, “You have such a good life, Lillian. I use to hate it when we were teenager. I got over you being with Ryan but it still pissed me off sometime but all I can do now is be happy for you. Most women aren't as lucky as you.”
“James is a nice husband husband.”, Lillian said about Jeanette husband. “Treats you like a queen.”
“He is, he's perfect.”, she said, chuckling. “But I’m saying, not most girls get knocked up and stay together with their baby daddy for this long unless you were born in the forties. You and Ryan are bless to have each other.”
Lillian smiled and blushed a little, “I know, I'm thankful to have him. Helps remind me that there is a God who blessed me with an amazing husband and children.”
“How's nursing school coming though?”, Jeanette asked and Lillian sighed heavily.
“God, study was fun at first but now it's getting hard. I think maybe I should have waited a few more years until Kenzie was a little older.”, she said as she got the boneless chicken out the fridge.
“Maybe but maybe you would have said that again in the next few years. Keep on procrastinating until it's to late. Proud of you Lil.”, she said.
“Thanks, Jean.”, she said.
The front door of the house opened and Zane walked in, throwing his book bag on the table. He kissed Jeanette on the cheek and then went over to the fridge, “I'm starving mom.”
“Don't eat something to big, I'm making dinner.”, she said and when he grabbed the lunchable, she took it from him and scuffed. “Don't scuff and roll your eyes at me, Zane Gabriel, I said something not to big. You'll ruin your dinner if you eat this.”
“But I'm hungry!”, Zane whined, reaching to grab it but she held it higher in the air. “Mom, please!”
“Eat some apples with peanut butter.”, she said. “Don't make me call your father.”
He groaned and opened the fridge, grabbing the apple from the draw, and miserably walked into the living room. Lillian put the lunchable back in the fridge and she felt bad for being so mean to Zane, but she didn't want him to ruin his dinner.
“So Kenzie gets a cookie and Zane gets an apple?”, Jean asked.
“Trust me, you'll get it after ten years.”, Lillian sighed heavily and started cooking.
An hours passed and Jeanette lift before Ryan got home because she had to get home to make dinner for her and her husband. Ryan walked into the house and went straight to the snack cabinet. She watched him pull a bag of chips out and start munching on them.
When he noticed she was watching, he stopped and shrugged, “What?”
She walked over to him and took the bag, “You and Zane are so much alike. I'm cooking, can't you see?”
“I'm hungry though.”, he said, trying to snatch the bag back but she pulled it aside. He gave her a look, “Oh come on, a few chips is not going to ruin my dinner, Lil.”
“Hey, if I have to stay fit, so do you.”, she said, slapping his stomach. Ryan was still very fit and built strongly, she just like to mess with his head sometimes.
“I never said you had to—ugh!”, he groaned when he tried to reach around her but she back away. He stepped towards her and she quickly walked backwards. She laughed when she was trapped between the fridge and him. He put his arms around her and kissed her. She could taste the powder of the ranch Doritos around his mouth.
She giggled when she held tighter onto the bag when he tried to take them from her, “No Ryan, dinner will be ready in five minutes. Promise.”
He pulled away from the kiss and sighed, “Fine.”
“Daddy!”, Mackezie yelled when she got to the bottom of the stairs and ran over to him, jumping into his arms, wrapping both her arms and legs around him. Mackezie was a big daddy's girl, she always brights up when she sees him come home.
“Oh there's my princess!”, Ryan said, setting her back down onto the floor, but she kept her little arms around his waist. He chuckled when trying to move her arms, “We’re going to do this again, Kenzie?”
“I just love you!”, she said, giggling, clingy to him.
“I love you to, Kenzie.”, he said.
“Is the food ready?”, Zane whined, then brought his hand up to his chest and faked a gasp, “Need food...or I will...die!”, he said, then falling to the floor and closed his eyes. Lillian put her hand on her right hip and rolled her eyes.
“Yes, Zane, help me get it ready.”, she said.
