Worlds Apart

Virgil

Me and Nico have been stuck, waiting for the hallway to clear. I feel a pit growing in my stomach with every second that passes. I hate being here and I hate that everyone is here. I should have protected them back at the cabin but instead they protected me.

Nico nudges me softly, pulling me from my thoughts, "The coast is clear," he whispers.

I nod and we sneak out of the room, heading towards the dungeon fast but quiet. I see the entrance upahead and I get caught off guard when I see Emile run up the stairs, sobbing and obviously freaking out.

"Emile," I say softly and speed walk towards him, "What's wrong? What happened?"

Emile looks at me, hugging me tightly, "Patton is fighting Janus and Remus tortured Roman."

"What," I ask rather shocked. I look at Nico, "You two get out of here. I'll get everyone else."

Nico nods and grabs Emile's arm softly but firmly so he doesn't run off. He doesn't seem to be in the right state of mind and I don't blame him. They both run off down the hallway and I turn back to the dungeon. I hear a scream and immediately I dash down the stairs. That's Patton!

I reach the bottom and see Janus standing over Patton's bloody, beaten body. I feel anger boiling inside of me.

"Janus," I yell pissed off.

Janus smirks as he looks at me, "Virgil, what a surprise~ I can't believe you managed to pull off a fake death. Or should I say a...Recarnation."

"It doesn't matter. What matters is letting my friends go. They never were meant to get involved."

"But it's your fault they are involved. Killing Roman's mother, dating a human, dragging your best friend along with your shenanigans, and joining a rebellion. I must say I never thought you would do all of that. Making a mess for everyone involved."

"Shut the fuck up Janus," I state. "Your manipulation and mind games won't work on me anymore."

Janus looks a bit taken a back, "Well I'll just have to beat you then!"

Janus transforms into a bigger, muscular version of himself and charges at me. I transform into a fly and fly past him, quickly going back to my normal form and unlocking Thomas's and Scarlett's cell.

"Let everyone out," I demand them before facing Janus again.

"Remus won't let any of you escape," Janus states in a deeper tone.

"We plan on killing him too," Scarlett states before running out of the dungeon.

Logan grabs Patton as Thomas grabs Roman. Remy walks over to me, staying by my side.

"I'm not letting you or Remus touch Emile," Remy stated with a glare.

Janus chuckled, "The second we found out he was pregnant we wanted nothing to do with him."

"Emile's pregnant?!"

"Not now Virgil."

"But when were you guys gonna say anything?!"

"I said not now!"

Janus rolls his eyes, "Enough arguing children. Let's fight."

Me and Remy turn our attention to Janus. Remy spreads his wings out a bit as I transform into a bigger version of myself. I give myself bigger muscles and sharper teeth.

Janus lunges at me and I grab him tightly, Remy grabbing a dagger from his metal wing. He stabs at Janus's back. Janus yells and picks me up off the ground, throwing me into a wall. He then backhands Remy before grabbing his metal wing and pulling it off of him, causing Remy to yell in pain.

I get up and tackle Janus, biting his shoulder. He yells and gives himself a tail that has spikes. He starts hitting me with his tail, cutting and stabbing my back a bit. I yell and move back, standing next to Remy.

Remy tightens his hold on his dagger, "Emile, forgive me." He whispers under his breath. "Virgil, plan E."

I look at Remy shocked, "What?! No! Your gonna-"

"Not time to talk. Do it now," Remy said as he jumped onto Janus, aiming to stab his heart. Janus grabs the dagger, cursing.

I grab the bag off my shoulder and pull out a small device. "Remy, we will bring you back."

Remy smiles, "I know. Now do it and run! Help the others!"

I press the red button and throw it at Remy who uses his free hand to catch the bomb. I grab my bag and run upstairs, counting down the seconds.

Logan made the bomb when we were planning. Plan E stands for Explosion. It's a suicide mission but we have Patton who can bring us back from the dead. It's the only reason we have that plan. Because it's not a permanent death.

I make it down the hallway before the explosion goes off. Causing the ground to shake. I quickly transform into a fly again and fly off to find the others.

I hope they are all okay.
