It was that time of year again, Michelle was throwing her annual Summer party and we were all invited as per usual Since a lot of us came back after college the old A-Troupe has been reunited, everyone except Amanda and Riley. From what I've heard they are both succeeding in life without a second thought to look back There isn't a day that goes by where I don't miss Riley, I miss being with her, I miss her hugs, I miss just seeing her daily.. Now all I have to see her is the photo's she posts on Instagram.. The hardest part of those photo's is it clear she has moved on with someone new and I just have sit back and watch from a far

The house was full of people, Michelle truly became the biggest social butterfly when she went off to college, none of us can complain though. It's nice having new people around "Hey man!" He saw how it broke me, he saw how much I took a hit.. He was the one who caught me "I know you don't want to talk about her but have you thought about reaching out?" Riley and I's break up was something I never thought would happen but I completely understand it. I was here in Toronto with the band, community college while Riley got the incredible offer of Julliard. She didn't want to go because it meant us being a part but Riley has something special that the whole world deserved to see I refused to be the one to hold her back So I let her go, I broke us up and it killed me. It hurt watching her break down and beg for me to take it back but I knew if I had that she would have never gone We all know that Riley thinks the only reason she's grown in her confidence is because she's bounced off of me but it truly isn't true Riley is the most incredible person I ever got to love and she had the confidence the entire time she just needed someone to show her how to use it.. I'm glad I got to be that person. I truly am but I refuse to be someone who holds her back "And why are you grumpy! It's the Summer bash!" Michelle asked throwing her arm over my shoulder. She was clearly drunk "Did you know Riley is back?" I asked and she looked at me confused "No?" She said instantly sounding more sober "Yeah, she was at The Next Step today" I replied showing her the Instagram From the look on Michelle's face it was clear she was as unaware as the rest of us
Everyone lost contact with Riley when she headed to College. Not because we didn't want to talk to her but she was always busy and then over time everyone including Riley stopped trying I can't help but think that she went through something alone and won't ever tell us Her more recent posts aren't the same Riley I fell in love with.. They're the Riley that hid in her sister's shadow "I didn't have a clue" Michelle whispered looking at me "Me either" I replied "Have you spoken to Emily recently?"
