Climbing trees and forgetting things

Friday... The last day of term
Jades POV
" why does London have to do her rehearsal for tonight now" I whine
It's lunch at school and I am friendless... Derek's with James so I can't hang out with James and London is as I said... Doing her song rehearsal for tonight now, I've already had mine and my partner got her neck broken a week ago so I'm doing a solo. great...
I decided at the start of lunch I'd go to the oak tree, it's a tree at the corner of the school that almost no one goes to, it's because they find it creepy here but I find it really beautiful,
I swing my satchel to behind me so i can climb properly, then grab the closest branch, I continue like this for a few branches until I find my branch,
it's a branch that can fit my whole body on it, it's like it's apart of the trunk, it also has a place in the leaves where you can see the city..
You can even See Big Ben, that's why I love this tree it's not only beautiful, but the view is amazing...
I place my bag on my knees, taking the strap off because I don't like sitting with a bag on...
Why do I have the sudden urge to sing??
I start to sing the lyrics to fight song by Rachel platten and I sing loud..,

" Hello?!?" A voice yells cutting me off
I shut my gob and stay extremely still,
that voice sounds familiar... And I don't know who it is other than their male..
" hello?! Please don't stop... It was really nice singing.. I just wanna know who you are" they yell
" WHY?" I yell back
" because if you are who I think you are I want to talk to you" they say
I stay silent and carefully look down to the floor to see Derek... I knew that voice was familiar,
He luckily doesn't see me, I bring my knees to my chest and in the process of doing that I drop my satchel... Right onto Derek's head
" ow what the?!" He yells
It goes silent for a minute or two and I just sit there hoping he doesn't see its my bag... But then he speaks again
" jade! I know it's you! You got this bag for your birthday and no other girls at This school have this bag! Please just talk to me! Come down from the tree, please," he begs
I give in and start to climb down... But halfway down I slip on a branch and fall... On top of Derek

Derek's POV
Thanks a lot James... Stupid rehearsals, I've had mine already so James is having his now... Great not one friend... Who will actually talk to me
I walk to the old oak and hear singing... Singing that seems familiar

"HELLO?!" I yell
They stop singing and I'm kinda disappointed... I walk around the trunk of the tree trying to look for them but their not there
" hello?! Please don't stop... It was really nice singing.. I just wanna know who you are" I say
" WHY?" They yell from the branches of the tree
Ok so their in the tree... And they sound familiar, jade? Could it be jade? It has to be... But she'd be with London... It's probably not jade
"because if you are who I think you are I want to talk to you" I beg
There's no reply, only silence, I look Down and put my hands In my pockets, I feel the locket in my right pocket and sigh...
That's when something hits my head
" OW! What the?!?" I yell
I look at the thing that hit me in the head and see jades satchel... No other girl has that satchel, I was right it is jade
Pick up the bag and look up to the tree and see her curled up in a ball,
She must really wish it was some one other than me
"jade! I know it's you! You got this bag for your birthday and no other girls at This school have this bag! Please just talk to me! Come down from the tree, please," I beg
I hear her sigh then she starts to climb down but that's when I hear a snap and are soon pinned to the floor
" owww" I groan
She looks at me in shock and worry, our faces inches apart, she scrambles off me before speaking
" sorry, I am so sorry" She says quickly standing up
" no, I'm sorry... You don't have to be, I know your saying sorry for falling on me but I'm saying sorry for everything,for yelling, for blaming you for something I know wasn't your fault, for acting like a douce, for hanging out with matt, for everything" I say standing up
She goes quiet then smiles widely, she hugs me and I hug her back
" I'm glad the old Derek's back" she says looking up at me
My heart races, I haven't seen her smile for days... A real smile at least, I'm glad I have her back
" I'm glad I have the happy jade back" I smile
She laughs then let's go of me, tears of joy ( I assume) flowing down her face, a smile that seems like its never gonna go away plastered on her face
I wipe my thumb under her eye to get rid of a stray tear
" no more crying, joy or not, I don't want to see tears out of those eyes for a long time"
I drop my hand and we look at each other for awhile then She looks at floor and picks up her bag
" almost forgot this... I think London would crack it at me if I left my bag and the teenage dirtbag jumper and lost it" she laughs
I laugh to then I remember my pocket, I shove my hand in my pocket then pull out the locket, looking extremely awkward in doing so
" umm do you still want this?" I say holding up the locket
She smiles looks at the locket then to me
" only if you promise Again, and really mean it This time" she says
" I Derek McNally, promise and really mean it, that I will always be by your side jade kattina" I say proudly
" good, you better keep this promise or next time I'll punch you instead of slap you... Now can you help me put the locket on?" She laughs
I laugh slightly... I know she's not joking, but I'm not gonna brake my promise not now nor ever
Jade turns around and lifts up her hair, I put the locket on her then hug her from behind
" hi jade" I say
" hey Dere-boo" she laughs
" no it's Winnie the Pooh!" I whine
" yes and I am the recorded message" she laughs again
I missed her laugh... I missed her...I love her why wouldn't I?
" SEE I TOLD YOU!" I hear a female voice yell
I let go of jade and look behind me and see London and James standing there, James' hand over London's mouth
" I thought you were at rehearsal" me and jade say in perfect timing
We look at each other then to London and James in annoyance
" explain" jade says

Jades POV
" explain" I say
" run?" London asks
" run" James confirms
They start to run off, me and Derek chasing behind them, then they split so me and Derek split, me running after London and Derek after James
" London come back here!" I yell
London turns the corner and I follow, only to be stopped...
" jade," Derek groans
Derek and James were getting beat up matt and all 5 of his goons
6 against 2 that's hardly fair
Me and London stand there and stare in horror at what's happening when Derek falls to the floor
" NO! DEREK!" I scream
I try to run to him when I'm grabbed by matt and pushed up against the wall
" get. Off. Of. Me!" I yell trying to fight him
He laughs in my face then instinct takes over...
* flash back*
It was only a year ago and we were doing judo, me and Derek were demonstrating how to take down someone if you can't use your hands and / or have minimum space
" ready?" He asks
" ready" I confirm
He runs up to me and makes sure I can't use my hands and that I have as minimal space to fight as possible,
I look at his positioning and see he has his legs spread far apart and uneasily that's when I take my chance...
i take my heel, put it behind his then pull towards me making him lose balance and fall on his back
" hey not fair !" He groans
" how?" I laugh
" you better me" he says standing up
" and you English good" I laugh
* end of flash back*
I look down to matt's feet and see his feet spread apart, I secretly put my heel behind his and pull him to the ground, he hits the floor and groans
" where the hell did you learn that?" He groans
" me and Derek have been doing judo since we were kids, so don't mess with us" I say
He shuffles back on his elbows before his goon squad helps him and they run off
I run over to Derek and London to James
" Derek? Derek? Are you ok?! Please talk to me..." I say quickly sitting on my knees and checking if he's alright
Derek groans then props himself up on his elbows, his eye bruised, his lip bleeding slightly and his hair every where
" I'm fine jade" he says sitting up
" frankly you've done worse" he laughs
I smile then look over to London and James and raise my eyebrow
" anyway before this incident happened we where chasing you," I say
" because you lied to us... Explain" Derek finishes my sentence
This Is why we're Bestfriends...
But how I wish we were more...
You still?...
Yes after our little fiasco I still have a crush on him...
Great just perfect...
London smiles then starts to laugh
" that's why, you two are bestfriends you need each other, you guys were miserable! So we had to put a stop to it, we knew you two would go to that tree If you were alone, so I told James and he agreed... Didn't believe me but he agreed" she explains
" yeah well you could of not yelled I TOLD YOU! Because then we could at least not be in this situation" James complains
" well sorry I was right so I had to shout it" she replies
We just laugh until the bell goes and then we go to class... The last class of the day math..
This is going to be fun... Sarcasm, basically my life
" oh and jade" Derek says while we walk to class
" yes Dere-boo" I tease
" standing up to mrs suckyofallteachers was probably one of the most awesome things you have ever done" he says
" oh I know, but she's still probably pissed at me though" I laugh
We get to class and mrs sucky' glares at me I smile back and show her the locket
Oh making enemies is fun...
