4 months later... High school graduation
Jades POV...
" ahh! I can't believe today's the day! And I cannot believe mr Asher asks all 4 of us to do speeches" London squeaks
I laugh as I fix my hair, Today's graduation... Yay no more school! Only 4 years of university! Great... Well that's me anyway... I'm going to an university where I'm studying journalism, cause I'm gonna be a writer,
Derek's going to the same university but he's learning how to teach the arts like mr Asher... He's basically doing what he loves,
London's going to Paris when she's 22 since she's got the scholarship into the company but before that she's going to Italy for a year then I don't know what she's confusing like that
James is going back to the town he was born in for university so we won't be seeing him for a while....
" oh bye the way, I love your dress" London laughs
" yeah you bought it for me" I laugh
We laugh but I know she's as nervous as me, which is really nervous
Derek and James soon walk in wearing suits... Ok dress shirts, ties, suit jackets and skinny jeans... Not exactly suits
" well hello ladies" James says
" well hello doofus face" London says
Me and Derek laugh and I notice Derek seeming really nervous
What's wrong with Derek... It's only a speech, he's never been stage fright before... So what's wrong
" Derek are you ok?"
" hmm! what? Huh? Sorry I'm just fine just a little shaken up and unwell" he blurts out
I walk up to him and place the back of my hand to his head
" well you don't have a fever so you should be fine" I say sweetly
James nudges Derek's arm and Derek looks at James worriedly
Seriously why is Derek acting like this? What is he hiding?
" Derek... I can tell your hiding something...what is it?" I ask sternly
He snaps his eyes to me but before he can answer mr Asher walks in
" ok you 4 need to come with me" he says
We follow him to the auditorium where everyone else is sitting in rows onstage and families are starting to sit in the rows of the audience
" ok so your order Is going to be jade, James, London and then Derek for speeches" mr Asher says
We nod our heads then sit in our seats...
Only to be bored to death by our teachers doing speeches for an hour and a half,
But that doesn't bother me, not at all... It's the fact Derek won't tell me something, something that seems to be worrying him and making him nervous, what is it?
" now we will have some speeches from 4 students first is miss jade kattina" mr Asher says
I stand up out of my chair and walk up to the microphone
" a wise boy once said I will never grow up I will be a boy forever... He is here today, he may be 18 in appearance but he will always be 5 at heart, that's what we are all of us, we're 17, 18 or 19 in appearance but we will always be young at heart,
we are graduates today but tomorrow what are we? We are free,
we've made Friends here. We've cried here. We have some of our fondest memories here. Memories that will stay with us.
we are forever young, we can be what we want to be, were only 5 are we not... Because I know I am" I say proudly
The speech gets a few laughs, what I was expecting
Mr Asher comes up to me and tells me to stand to the side of the stage as James comes up to say his speech
" school, yes it can be boring.. But like jade said, we make memories here
And that's what I loved best about school, the memories..
Like school camp last year, we went paris... It was so much fun, the places we went,
The things we saw, the reaction London had when a musical company we had auditioned for called her and accepted her, I mean jade and Derek said they could hear her from the top of the Eiffel Tower and me and London were on the ground... HUGE REACTION!
But one of my greatest memories from my time here...
Meeting jade and Derek, I already knew London and she hated me...
But now we're best friends and jade made that possible and Derek was just there but now we are all best friends, we could not be any closer...
And I just have to thank the school for that, if I had gone to a different school London would still hate my guts and Jade might not of known who I am..
Derek probably since we live next door to eachothe, oh and Jade I'm 5 aswell, I wasn't the one who said the thing but I'm with you I'm also 5" he says
A lot of people were laughing and I don't Blame him because I was laughing too...
Mr Asher asks James to stand to the right of me where he is closer to the microphone but he doesn't... He stands to the left
" James your meant to be standing that side of me" I say pointing to my right
" I know but trust me you'd want me standing here" he says a smirk on his lips
I look back to Derek who looks like he's about to vomit then back to the audience
" is Derek alright?" I whisper to James
" just a little nervous id say" he whispers back
London walks up to the microphone after finishing a small talk with Derek and starts her speech
" today we graduate, tomorrow we go our separate ways... That's most of us, even me and my friends,
I'm going to Italy,
James is going to the town we grew up in
And Jade and Derek are going to a university In the city... Ok they're going to Japan first but then they're going to a university in the city...
We're going separate ways, but we will always be there for each other,
We will always have each other to call
We will always have this school to come back to, for jobs or to see our siblings...
Unlikely to see our siblings but still a possibility
We will always be by each others side
I will always be there for James and he'll be there for me, I know it
and Derek will always be there for jade, it's how we work
We may to separate places or do different courses for the same university but whatever situation we will be there for one another that's what this school has given us
Trust in each other, friends, or enemies turned friends
And we are all as jade said 5" she smiles
Again mr Asher tells the person to stand to my right
And they go to my left...
Derek walks up to the microphone, and I can see he's clearly nervous... Why? He's never been this nervous for something like this
" I will never grow up I will be a boy forever, I said that when I was 5 when I only started kindergarten,
Now we're graduating high school
I know that we've all made our mistakes... Especially me
I trusted someone who I hate, who is evil and I almost lost my best Friend jade
But we've all made some really good ones aswell, one of them being I asked jade to be my girlfriend and she said yes
Thats One of my favourite moments in my high school life
But before I leave I want to make one more" he says
I look at him confused but the he walks over to me, pulls a small box out of his jacket pocket then gets down on one knee and opening the box to reveal a gorgeous ring
He's not... He's not...
HE Is!!!!
" jade kattina will you marry me?"
I put my hand over my mouth tears escaping my eyes, I nod my head over and over before taking my hand off my mouth and speaking
" yes. Yes a million times yes!" I squeak
Derek smiles putting the ring on my finger, the crowd clapping and everyone on stage does the same
Derek stands up and I kiss him
I'm getting married I can't believe it
