Haunting pasts and shaking stages

Jades POV
Monday continued from after breakfast...
" I hate you" I say to Alisha for about the fiftieth time today
" I know" she whines
I laugh and grab my school bag
" DEREK COME ON! I PROMISED LONDON THAT WE'D WALK TO SCHOOL WITH HER TODAY!" I yell
I hear a groan before, thud, crash, slam
Well he's at least out of my room
" don't yell so loud, you pushed me into the bedside table and I hit my head if you don't recall" he says walking down stairs
" aww poor baby.... If you didn't catch that, that was sarcasm! You may of hit your head on the bedside table, but I ran into a PAN! Now which one would hurt more? Oh yeah A PAN TO THE FACE!" I say extremely annoyed
He rolls his eyes and swings open the door
" well you don't have a bruise on your face do you? No so be quiet" he replies
I huff and push past him into the front yard where I see a familiar face walking by
" hey James!" Derek yells walking on to the foot path
How did he get there? How the hell is Derek that fast? Or am I just confuzzled because of the frying pan to the face...
" hey? What are you doing here? I thought you lived next to me?or did you?" He says extremely confused
"NO!" Me and Derek yell at the same time
I feel my cheeks warm up as I push past the boys and walk into Londons yard
" um if your looking for the school it's that way..." James says
I assume he points to the school and I just roll my eyes even though he can't see them, I knock on the door and it immediately swings open to reveal the red headed girl I only met yesterday. London.
" hey U.K" I say
" U.K?" She asks
" you know your names London, London's in the United Kingdom, the U.K" I say she nods her head then looks behind me "London? What's wrong?"
She doesn't answer, goes wide eyed then drags me into her house before slamming the door behind her
" what is it?" I say
" more like who is it, that's James Lozano, he bullied me! That's the whole reason why we moved here!!" She whisper shouts
" really? He was the reason?" I ask
At this point I'm not feeling so safe with my best friend talking with a bully,
"Actually we moved here because multiple people bullied her, our mum and dad divorced and mums job made us move here" Dorian says walking into the room playing a Nintendo DS
" shut up Dorkian or I will shove your head into the car door!" London says through gritted teeth, her back still pinned to the door
Dorian looked up from his device, pure fear in his eyes, what's his problem?
He grabs his school bag , pushes London to the floor, runs out the door and in the direction of the primary school, he doesn't bother shutting the door so I'm just standing there awkwardly in the door way
And to make it worse Derek and James are staring at me in utter confusion making it extremely embarrassing
" ha we'll be out in just a minute " I say before closing the door
London stands back up and pick up her bag
" works every time..." She says smugly
" London? Are you ok... A minute ago you were freaking out and now your being smug... It's either that or the frying pan hit me really hard in the face" I say mumbling the last part
She sighs and grabs my arm opening the door and dragging me out of the house,
" let's go to school I'll tell you everything on the way" she sighs letting go of my arm and locking the door
We push past a very confused Derek and James and start walking towards
The school, and that's when my phone Goes off
Derek: what happened?
Jade: it's complicated, get James to explain London and his past
Derek: wat?
Jade: I'll see you at school
Derek: NOOOOOOOOO TEELLLLL meeeee!
Jade: your starting to sound like me :)
Derek: oh god no! :o
I laugh at the last text and London just looks at me like I'm crazy
" stop that or it'll happen to you one day" I say " anyways what was the whole thing back there, how and why did James bully you?"
She sighs and walks slightly slower
" when I was in primary school I had a red with gold decorations book of fairy tales, I loved it so much, me and James back then were friends... Not Bestfriends but friends, but when high school came along, James went and told everyone I didn't know I had a book of fairytales still... Everyone started to bully me for it and I hated it...I had a spiral of depression and whenever I looked at the book, I couldn't handle my emotions so one day when I was 13 I told my mum to get rid of it and she did, I stopped believing in happy endings, I knew fairytales were lies and now I hate... Most fairy tales, I like a few like Alice in wonderland but the rest, no. So if James hadn't of told everyone, I wouldn't be here I wouldn't of been bullied and I wouldn't hate him so much" she says
" wow, I'm sorry that must of been really rough," I say awkwardly
" ugh yeah, well enough about me, umm wadda bout you jadey-wadey... What's the story with you and Derek?"
I groan and rub my head making London laugh,
" well umm where do I begin... Well we've been Bestfriends since we were one, before that our parents were best friends, um well we've been through a lot together, his mum disappeared when we were 7, he got slightly bullied for that and I did for hanging out with him but we got through it, umm ugh I'm not sure! we've been through a lot, I mean even now, both of our dads were called out to war so yeah, that's all I can really say..." I say quite awkwardly
She laughs which makes me laugh too and we walk up to the gate, before she could walk in I grab her arm and pull her towards the side of The gates where I usually wait for Derek
" why aren't we going in?"
" we are waiting here for Derek, I do not go inside without him the only time I do that is if he's sick, he may be with your bully but he's still my best friend, understand and respect that London understand and respect" I say
She stares at me slightly annoyed but I can't blame her, I'd be like that too if I found out my bully has followed me, soon Derek and James arrive at the school and London just keeps her mouth shut
" took ya long enough" I say smiling
" yeah well we were a bit confused when London dragged you out of the house" Derek says smiling back
We start to walk into the school when James pulls London back with him
" hey I need to talk to London privately is that ok?" He asks
I look at London, worry in her eyes then I look back to James
" sure" I mumble
I look back at a wide eyed London and mouth the words I'm sorry before walking to my locker feeling extremely guilty and Derek notices sadly
" Jade are you ok? Are you thinking about your dad again?" He asks I can hear the worry in his voice
I sigh and continue to walking to my locker
I completely forgot about dad, wow great daughter, 2 days and she forgets him...
URGH get your mind off of this subject jade you didn't forget him you just let your mind wander for a bit...
How did I let my mind wander?...
Umm I think It was last night when Derek asked if you needed a hug, I'm pretty sure being with him took your mind off the subject....
Yeah and now he put my mind back on the subject....
Wait what am I doing I'm talking to myself! In my head! Talk to the person next to you!
" I'm fine I just feel a little guilty for leaving London with James seeing what happened with them..." I trail off
The bell for first period goes before he can talk, we run to our lockers and then to our first class, drama, oh great a class that is not at all distracting, at Least we don't have to do theory since it's the first week of school or wait is that for the last week of school? Ugh I can't remember anymore! I really wish we had music first, then I could play my violin... If I actually brought it to school today,
We run into the assembly hall since that's where we have drama class and all eyes turn to us, even James and London are already there and their... Their... Acting all friendly, what happened?
We take our seats, again where we usually sit and listen in... This time
" well as I was saying, we have two new students, a James Lozano and a London smith who both transferred here from hellion heights academy for the gifted, pleasure to have you here I'm mr Asher the arts teacher, I teach drama music and dance for this class" he says
London slouches down when mr Asher says gifted, whys she so embarrassed? Is her talent bad? Or does she just not want people to know who she is?
" well then, onto work... Today we will be working on improvisation, so I need a few volunteers..."
Everyone groans including Derek and myself, whenever mr Asher says volunteers he means he's picking people, that's why I'd rather be in music because if he chose me in music then I would probably be less shy,
Everyone looks at mr Asher in hope that their not chosen
" ok my vonenteers are... Mr McNally, miss kattina , mr Lozano and miss smith" he says
Great!
Me and Derek groan as we stand up and walk down to the stage, James and London however don't seem to be phased by it,
" ok so you will improvising a scene and that scene is you are about to perform in front of an audience of thousands and jade, you break your leg, Derek you get stage fright, James, you become sick and London, you get amnesia" he says
This isn't going to be a total failure at all...
" and action!" Mr Asher yells before running off stage
" oh my gosh I cannot believe we're about to perform infront of easily a thousand People!" London squeaks running to the Side of the stage
" a what?!?" Derek yells
" oooooh! I think my mums in the audience! Let me see!" I say
I run over to side of the stage and pretend to stumble, then actually fall on my foot, I really think I actually hurt it, that or the power of pretendness just made my ankle really hurt
" OUCH!" I yelp
Derek and James run over to me thinking I faked it,
" are you alright?" James asks
" no I'm really not, it really hurts" I say examining my ankle
" is it broken?" London asks
" no I don't think so" I say
I know their acting, but I'm really not, I swear I might of accidently twisted my ankle! Oh how ironic, I'm meant to act hurt and I actually am and people think I'm acting, this couldn't get any worse... Or can it
At that point the room Starts to shake,
" EARTHQUAKE!" Mr Asher yells
Everyone ducks under their chairs, London, James and Derek run off stage, leaving me on stage, petrified by fear
I hate earthquakes so much I can't move when they start and now with my injury I couldn't run if I wanted to... I'm so screwed
I try my Best to overcome my fear by standing up, but that gets me no where, I may be standing up, but I sure as hell ain't moving..
" JADE GET OFF THE STAGE NOW!" Mr Asher yells
I don't reply and look at the stage lights, they're shaking dangerously,
And that's when the worst happens, the one above me starts to fall...
