Big nights and singing steady

Friday night... Before the performances
Jades POV
" it's freezing!" I say
Why did my outfit for my song have to be a dress! An icy blue, strapless, knee length DRESS!! Well at least London can feel my pain, not so much Derek and James
"It's cold not freezing" Derek says
I glare at him
" maybe for you! Your wearing skinny jeans and a long sleeve shirt!" I say through my teeth
He laughs, why do me and London have to be on opposite sides of the stage! We could complain together! Plus it's warmer on her side...
" why couldn't London and James be on this side and us on the other.... It's warmer over there" I whine
Derek laughs again before giving me a hug and as always it's warm
" better?"

" Derek, I gotta ask this but why are you wearing a dress shirt and a tie? Because aren't you singing boulevard of broken dreams, I'd think you would of worn something much different to that" I ask
He laughs and let's go of me
Noooo the coldness is freezing me again...
" I'm not singing that, I asked mr Asher... I'm doing a solo like you are, just not the same reason" he say playing with his hair
He's not singing with matt?!? YEs!!!
I hug him tightly for I have no words
" so that's a yes your so awesome your not singing with a complete and utter douce, cause that's the response I'm getting here" he laughs
" that and your really warm" I mumble
We laugh for a little until we see people starting to sit in chairs waiting for the show to begin
I see my mum, Michael, Alisha, Fiona, Dorian, London's parents and James' parents walk in and remember that my brother and London's are coming to this school next year...
Unlike my sister, unless she transfers, so mum and London's parents have to come...
Wait why are James' parents here?
I look over to the other side of the stage and see James and I mouth
' why are your parents here? This is information night...'
He nods his head then mouths back
' I have a sister she's Michael and Dorians age, she's mute'
I go wide eyed
James has a sister... WHY HAS HE NEVER TOLD ME?!?
I turn to Derek who's also wide eyed... But he seems broken, great
" Derek?" I whisper
He remains broken
" Derek" I panic

" DEREK!" I yell in his ear
He unfreezes and stumbles on stage, he regains his balance then looks to the now quiet audience
" hi there," he says awkwardly
He runs back off stage and to me, everyone in the audience bursts out laughing and so does everyone back stage... Including me
" yeah I'm glad this is funny to you because it's not to me" he growls
I see the Crimson red colour that has risen to his cheeks and laugh more
" hey it's not my fault you froze, it's James'" I laugh
He glares in James' direction then back to me
"Be quiet" he says
" didn't say a thing" I smile
He smiles back and a formal mr Asher runs on stage laughing
" HELLO! It is I! Mr Asher and that was just one of the comedians in our class and maybe if I can ask them nicely I can get him and a friend to do a comedy act," he says
Me and Derek go wide eyed
" should we?" I whisper
" we should" Derek smirks
I smile Then we snicker, we get shushed then mr Asher continues
" but now we are doing music and the first one to sing today is
James Lozano and Scott Joseph singing dammed if I do ya by all time low" he yells into the microphone running off stage
James and Scott run on stage microphone in hand wearing a white t-shirt, leather vest, orange brown jeans and a grey beanie
" hello my name is James"
" and mine is Scott"
" and as mr Asher said we are singing dammed if I do ya by all time low.." James says
The music starts and James isn't half bad, neither is Scott. They're actually pretty good

The song eventually finishes and mr Asher runs on stage where as James and Scott run off stage
" well wasn't that just a kick starter, now, it's time for our next performance... And I will probably ask about the whole comedy act... Yeah well NEXT! LONDON SMITH AND PARIS PHILLIPS!!" He yells
London and Paris walk on stage, microphones in hand and Paris wearing a black dress and London wearing a creamish white dress
" hello everyone my name is London and this is Paris and today we are singing real love by clean bandit featuring jess Glynne"
The song starts and London kicks it off, and she's amazing

During the song mr Asher comes up to me and Derek asking us to do the improv we did on Wednesday straight after London's performance seeing as there's only six performances, we'd go on after ever second one

We agree and as soon as London finishes we walk on
"Well hello there my name is jade and this talentless hack is Derek" I smile
" I have more talent than you so that's a complement" he says back
I glare at him and he smirks in return
" well anyway onto some real talent" I say Pushing Derek back
He over exaggerates and fall back
" hey what was that for?!?" He yells
" I was doing a favour to the audience so they don't have to see your ugly face" I say " well onto the next performers which are.."
" Jordan Clarissa and James Tyler!" Derek says picking me up and putting me on his shoulder
" DEREK PUT ME DOWN! IM IN A DRESS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!" I yell
He laughs and so does the audience as Derek walks off stage with me still on his shoulder
When we're off stage Derek puts me down and I glare at him
" you just had to pick me up didn't you" I say unimpressed
He nods his head as we laugh
( song playing: sweater weather by the neighbourhood)
" wow they're good, just like the actual song" I say outloud
Derek looks at me, I look back at him and laugh
" why are you looking at me like that?" I laugh
" looking at you like what?" He laughs back
" you seem very fascinated with my face.... But then again who wouldn't be"
We laugh and laugh, obviously very quietly, until it's time to go on again... After the second song
" well wasn't that lovely, Lillian sapphire and Sara ruby singing primaddona by marina and the diamonds" I say walking on stage
" are you sure they weren't singing about you cause it sure sounded like it"Derek mumbles into the microphone
I glare at Derek then smile back to the laughing audience
" well now it's our solo singers, first of all is... Derek McNally... Ok if there is anyone here with infant children I would suggest covering their ears, because I've heard him sing and he sounds like nails across a chalkboard" I say
This time Derek glares at me as I walk off stage
" yes I'm Derek McNally and today I am singing Lego house by Ed sheeran" he says
The music starts and he starts to sing
"I'm gonna pick up the pieces and build a Lego house
If things go wrong we can knock it down
My three words have two meanings but there's one thing on my mind
