"So, anyone want me to start a fire?" Lisa broke the silence as everyone seemed to have a mental breakdown.
"You can do that?" Chaeyoung asked curiously.
Lisa felt proud that she received an impressed look from her crush.
"Yeah I-"
"Yup. Just bring a kitchen to us and Lisa will make a fire in a second." Jisoo interrupted her and made her look uncool in front of said crush.
Lisa grumbled angrily and went further into the forest, searching for woods and anything else she could use.
"Hey Lisa! You can't go alone!" Sunmi told her but Lisa ignored her and kept walking.
After five minutes she felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to see Chaeyoung. The sight made Lisa jump, shocked.
"Sorry, Sunmi told me to go with you." Chaeyoung explained.
Yep, definitely Lisa's favourite teacher!
Lisa smiled. "Thanks! Follow my lead!"
After ten minutes Lisa cursed herself for taking the lead, she was getting nervous as the sun would set soon.
"Have we been going in circles?"
Lisa wished Chaeyoung hadn't asked and also hadn't noticed because she was right. Lisa had absolutely no clue where to go or where they were.
And now she doesn't even have her phone to use Google Maps.
"I'm sorry..." Lisa stopped and dropped on her knees. "We are lost because of me!" She groaned.
Chaeyoung watched her wide eyed. "We are?"
"I'm sorry! We are lost in a forest with a wild bear somewhere around! But it's not only my fault," Lisa fumbled. "I mean what kind of teacher would let their students walk into a forest where bears live right?"
"Now that you say it..." Chaeyoung bobbed her head in agreement. "So, what do we do?"
Lisa glanced around, only pebbles, leaves, twigs and trees. As well as birds and probably bugs.
"We need to find a place to sleep the night out. Somewhere a bear couldn't reach us. How about the trees?" Lisa suggested, getting back on her feet.
"I don't know how to tell you this Lisa but bears can climb trees." Chaeyoung answered with a straight face.
Lisa gasped. Why didn't Sunmi warn her of that? If she went with anyone other than Chaeyoung, she might have died in this forest.
"Oh, I see.... then let's search for an underground bunker!" Lisa's face lit up.
"Lisa, it's extremely unlikely you will find-"
"Found one!"
Lisa couldn't believe her own eyes when she tripped on a leaf covered lid that served as an entrance to an underground bunker.
"Spooky..." Chaeyoung shivered as Lisa opened the lid and peeked into it.
"I'll go in first. Follow me after three minutes or so." Lisa saluted and climbed down the stairs into the pitch black way down.
Once her feet touched the ground she brushed her hands on the wall and searched for a light switch, finally finding one she turned the lights on.
Soon Chaeyoung joined her and watched astounded. Lisa was also surprised because it wasn't a normal bunker.
In the front of the room there was a table full of monitors, they showed them videos of the forest in real time. Someone must have hidden cameras around. Maybe the police? Military? North Korea?
"A diary." Chaeyoung picked up the book and opened it without hesitation.
Meanwhile Lisa looked at one of the screens. She could see their camping place. She frowned, observing her friends.
It seemed like they were in the middle of making a fire. So they didn't wait for Lisa to gather firewood? Did they even notice they are gone??? Lisa facepalmed herself.
"Listen to this," Chaeyoung said, gaining Lisa's attention.
"Day 512 away from civilsation. The forest is amazing. I love to catch my own food and enjoy the scenery, the peace it brings. There is just one problem, a huge brown bear has been roaming around. I've been trying to find it, I even planted cameras, so I knew where I was safe. But I am finally fed up. The bear is in my way and won't let me hunt for food. Today, I will kill it."
Chaeyoung stopped reading. "That's the last page..."
Seeing how the bear is still alive and this is the last page, it must have turned out badly, Lisa assumes.
"We have to warn the others, we can't stay here." Chaeyoung exclaimed firmly.
Leave it to Sunmi to choose the one mountain and forest around which feels like they are in the middle of wild Alaska.
"They already know about the bear, let's sleep in here and reunite with them tomorrow." Lisa stated and not just because she wanted to sleep in the same place as her crush but also because she thought it was the smarter thing to do.
Chaeyoung sighed and walked to the back of the room where one sofa and a mini fridge were placed. There was also a wardrobe but upon opening it, she could only see guns and knives probably to hunt, so she quickly closed it.
"You can sleep on the sofa, I take the floor." Lisa grinned as she started that conversation. She already knows where this is going, everyone knows.
It will be like:
No, Lisa I will sleep on the floor! :[
It's okay Chaeyoung. You take the sofa...
No way. Let's both sleep on the sofa....
I don't know... but if you insist! :)
Yes, that's how it always goes. Lisa smiled happily and waited for Chaeyoung's disagreement.
However when it took too long and she craned her neck to look upwards, she already saw Chaeyoung sprawled flat on the sofa and closing her eyes.
She accepted the offer! Lisa thought this never happens!
She sighed and stood up to turn the lights off before she slumped on the chair across the monitors, deciding to sleep on it.
Her romantic fantasies would come true one day, she is sure of it. She just needs to work harder. Tomorrow morning she will think of something that will bring her closer to Chaeyoung-
"Goodnight Lisa."
The soft hum of the other's voice made Lisa heart jump and caused her body to wince.
Lisa's lips curled into a smile. "Goodnight Chaeyoung!"
