"I don't think we can walk in anymore." Jennie smiled, trying to push herself to the room through all the plushies.
"Let's put half to your home when-" Jisoo stopped mid-sentence.
Jennie smiled sadly. "Yeah... Once I can be with my mom again, we could put half in my room."
Jisoo wanted to help Jennie, it was obvious that she wanted to stay with her mom. She wasn't angry at her that she couldn't protect her from her dad. She probably excused the helplessness on her being a victim too.
But how could she help her legally? So far everything pointed towards Jennie being put into the system where she would get a foster family.
Jisoo thought about it plenty. Jennie was staying in her room and decided to nap, while Jisoo went out for a walk. Her mom told her to buy groceries.
"H-Hello...."
Jisoo heard a deep voice, out of breath almost. She heard that one before and it didn't give her a good feeling. In fact it enraged her. So when she turned around and found a certain man in a hospital gown, panting in front of her, she understood why she felt this sudden rush of anger.
She scoffed, at first not believing her eyes but once she realised he really was here, she clenched her fists.
"What the hell are you doing here? Shouldn't you be dead or in coma?" She glared down on him, her eyes not leaving that miserable man for a second.
"I-I'm not sure... I just woke up and wanted to see Jenn-"
"Yeah, no." Jisoo laughed dryly. "I'm going to call the cops."
"Wait!" He called when she fished her phone out hastily.
"Why would I? You stay away from her!" She was seconds away from looking around to search for a weapon.
"P-Please listen to me-"
"There's nothing you could say that justifies what you did." Jisoo spoke with finality.
He sighed deeply, then he slumped on his knees, taking Jisoo aback. "I know that... I just wanted to explain, not excuse myself..."
Now that Jisoo took a better look at him now, he didn't seem as terrifying as on that day. He seemed weaker, he was sweating a lot, he thinned all around and had bags under his eyes.
He definitely appeared too weak in his current state than to be a threat but of course that could change quickly. This could all be a trap.
"I'm not telling you where Jennie is, I'm not letting you near her, and I will call the police." Jisoo didn't back down on that. In fact he should feel lucky she hasn't beaten him up again.
"Then please tell her what I'm about to tell you, she should know why things changed in our family..."
Jisoo gave him a serious look which he returned even in his tired state. She won't forgive, no matter what he says.
