"Laura, don't make things difficult for me, I've been here all day, how would I know what's going on with William?"
He said as he put down his bowl and fork.
"I'm done eating, so I'm going to school now."
"Stop right there! " she called out to him.
"When did you become so enthusiastic about going to school?"
"I was very active in the first place, you can't order me around as you wish, Laura."
She frowned, and her voice became much more serious: "Benjamin Walton."
Butler was troubled: "Ms. Walton, don't ask anymore."
She stood up with a face full of displeasure and said, "You want me to go back and see for myself?"
Butler lowered his eyes.
"Ms. Walton, I say, actually, Mr. Walton …"
"Butler!"
Benjamin Walton snapped unhappily.
She looked at him: "Benjamin, do you still think I'm your family after all? Are you trying to make me die from anxiousness?"
Benjamin Walton said to Butler: "If you tell me about this, you will be implicated. Let me tell you, bring Wal over to the courtyard."
Butler gratefully glanced at Benjamin Walton before leaving.
Benjamin Walton looked at him: "Laura, take a seat."
She sat down and looked at him.
"Tell me quickly. Don't beat around the bush."
"After we left, William fell sick. It's been two months and he still hasn't recovered. Yesterday, Butler called home and heard that William is already so skinny that he doesn't even look human anymore."
Upon hearing this, tears dripped from her eyes without any warning.
"Laura, don't cry. We didn't dare to tell you because we were afraid you would worry."
She turned her face to the side and wiped away the tears.
"What's wrong with him?"
Benjamin Walton frowned, "It's a mental disorder caused by too much mental pressure, it's a little similar to anorexia."
A pained expression appeared on her face.
She raised her hand to cover her chest and took a deep breath.
Benjamin Walton quickly said: "Laura, you have to calm down. The reason William did not want us to tell you was because he was afraid that you would be worried. He is already seeing a therapist and is trying very hard to receive treatment."
She lowered her eyes and did not say a word.
"Laura …"
She shook her head, "Benjamin, you should go to school. I'm fine."
After she finished speaking, she stood up and shakily went upstairs.
Looking at her back, Benjamin Walton sighed gloomily.
God damn you.
Wasn't there a limit to how much people could suffer?
Returning to the room, she walked to the bedside and sat down.
She picked up the photo on the nightstand.
That was the only photo of her and William Walton together.
