27. Summer adventures

HARRY's POV:
As I jogged down the stairs following the scent of something warm and sweet, I turned around the corner to see y/n and Ralph making muffins
I deliberately made y/n jump by giving her the hugest surprise hug from behind

I felt a little jolt from her body and a squeal slip out of her mouth - followed by a thump on my chest

"Harry!!!" She exclaimed whilst smiling and rolling her eyes

"It's so easy to make her jump" Ralph chuckled to himself

A gave him a fake smile. "Hm always winding my favourite person up"

She blushed before smiling at her feet
Ralph noticed and squinted his eyes suspiciously at her

We stood in the kitchen in a triangle that was haunted by an awkward silence until Ralph spoke up

"Um y/n do you uh wanna, I don't know, go to the river lake thing later?" He stammered, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, avoiding eye contact with her

"I would love that!" She smiled prettily

Of course she would, she bloody well loves everything

I glared at Prince Charming then followed it with a fake smile

"Oh goodness that sounds great we should bring a picnic" I contributed

"Oh harry-" Ralph began before being interrupted by voice bellowing from the kitchen

"What you cooking in there"
Ron finally awake

"And what are you talking about a picnic"

The three of us just kinda looked at each other confused until a menacing idea came to me

"We're gonna go swimming later Ron, why don't you invite the others" I shouted back

Out of the reflection of a metal bowl sat on the kitchen cupboard surface I saw good old Ralph hold his forehead with pure annoyance

I waited a second to hear the floor boards creak as Ron slowly walked to the stairs
"Oi Fred and George do you wanna go swimming at that meadow lake later"
Ron bellowed up to his brothers and probably to London by the amount of noise he made

"Yeah alright" one of them shouted down

I spun on my heel back to the chefs behind me. "Great idea Ralph, see you two later!"

I ran up the stairs in utter joy with the fact I just ruined his plan

3rd PERSON POV

Y/n sat on Ginny's  bed holding up two bikinis
"Pink or green" she sighed

Aurora (Remus and sirus' child -she's about 3) came waddling over, attempting to grab the green one "pretty pretty" she giggled to her self

Y/n and ginny faced each other and chuckled
"Green it is"

It was just after 1pm when everyone grabbed their bags and food and headed out the door to walk to meadow lake

The sun was at its brightest and Ron and Fred were complaining that they were being starved as they weren't allowed lunch and "should save themselves for the picnic"

HARRY's POV:
As we walked and I got a 20 minute lecture on the importance of sun cream in summer from hermione, I watched y/n talk to Ron, they were laughing to themselves about something and I kept overhearing the words "he" and "I love when". However that might of been a mistake because all I heard from my left side was "skin cancer is fatal" "muggles and wizards are always at risk of ultraviolet rays"

Please help me merlin
