"Good morning, munchkins!" Cady says happily, heading to wake up her daughters. Two little heads pop up from the top bunk of their bed. "Did you guys have another sleepover?" They both nod. "Cute. It's time for breakfast, we have a big day today!"

"What's going on?" Layla yawns, rubbing her eyes blearily.

"We get to go meet your teacher today," Cady says, grabbing them to help them down. "And see your classroom, and then Mommy and I are going to take you to get all your school supplies and clothes after."

"Oh!" Layla says happily. Leo looks a little more nervous, but smiles too.

"My big girls, I can't believe you're almost kindergarteners! Stop growing," Cady demands, kissing their cheeks and sending them down to the kitchen.

"Morning, girls," Janis greets as they pad in and take their seats at the table, eyes still sleepy and hair still wild.

"Morning, Mommy," they both say. Leo yawns widely. Janis chuckles and ruffles her hair.

"Gonna have to get used to waking up early," she says. "What do you want in your waffles?"

"Cinnamon, please," Layla says.

"Chocolate chips," Leo yawns again, resting her head on the table. "Please."

"Coming right up," Janis says, heading back to the kitchen. Layla follows.

"Can I help?"

"Sure, Bug. Can you get the milk from the fridge for me?" Janis asks. Layla nods and heads to grab it. "Oh, and the eggs. Just be careful."

Cady comes down then, kissing Leo's cheek before heading into the kitchen as well. She makes Janis' coffee and her own tea, and greets her wife with a kiss.

"Blech," both girls call at the same time. Janis smirks and grabs Cady around the waist, kissing her harder. She keeps things chaste, but makes an exaggerated smooching sound and stays pressed against her wife until their daughters are practically screaming for them to stop.

"Okay, okay," they chuckle. Janis lifts Layla onto the counter and starts preparing the waffle mix. Cady leaves Janis' mug of coffee by her and heads with her own mug of tea to Leo at the table to hang out and wait for breakfast.

"Thank you," Leo says when Janis rests her breakfast and the bottle of syrup in front of her. Janis kisses her forehead and heads to make the next waffle.

"You're welcome, Bee. Eat up," she says, pouring more batter into the pan and sprinkling some cinnamon on top. "So how are we feeling about kindergarten?"

"Excited!" Layla cheers happily.

"I'm scared," Leo mumbles.

"Aww, Bee. What are you scared of?" Cady asks gently, wiping some stray syrup off her chin. "Little bites, love."

"I'm scared my teacher won't like me," she says once she's swallowed her bite. "'N that I'll be all alone."

"Oh, munchkin. You won't be alone, you two are in the same class this year, so you'll have Lala to play with. And I know both of you are gonna make so many new friends," Cady says. "And your teacher is gonna love you! You two are both so smart, and kind, and polite. You'll make her job easy. We'll get to see her today, you'll see."
