cadnis oneshots so i can get some f*cking sleep

for the first time in forever

hello everyone and welcome to part 3/3 of our cadnisney holiday celebration!! this one is a little extra special to me personally. i've wanted to do something like this basically since i started writing. those of you who follow my tumblr know that my favorite musical is, in fact, not mean girls (shock horror, i know). my favorite is frozen!! frozen is the musical that really got me deep into theatre as a whole. so in a roundabout way you actually have frozen to thank for my fics existing at all!!

once again!! to make it extra clear to a certain mouse!! i am not claiming to own any of the content contained within this story. it is purely inspiration being taken. i am so poor please don't sue.

anyway. thanks for sticking with me this year. i hope you all had/have a wonderful holiday or just winter season and i will catch you all in 2025!!

"Reggie!" Cady says eagerly, running over to her big sister and offering the chain and crown of flowers she wove. "I made this for you!"

Regina smiles at her and crouches down so Cady can put them on her. Cady smiles happily as she drapes the necklace around Regina's neck and carefully rests the crown on her head. Regina adjusts her crown when it comes out crooked. "Thank you, Cady. They're beautiful."

"Can we build a snowman? Pleeeease? Can we can we can we?!" Cady asks eagerly, throwing her arms around Regina's waist. Regina chuckles and ruffles her hair.

"Cady, you know I'm not supposed to-"

"Yeah, but do it anyway!" Cady pleads. Regina smiles down at her and makes a tiny flurry of snowflakes to tickle Cady's nose.

"That's what I'm talking about!" she says, looking at the snow fluttering in awe.

"Tell you what. You really want to build a snowman?" Regina responds. Cady likes the mischief in her eyes.

She nods eagerly. "Duh!"

"Then we'll stay up late, after eeeeeveryone else is asleep, and build that snowman."

"Yesssss!" Cady cheers, breaking out of their hug and prancing around the courtyard.

"Come on, help me find some flowers and I'll make you a crown too," Regina beckons, holding a hand for Cady. Cady slips her little hand into Regina's frigid one and runs after her back to the gardens.

Cady dances around as Regina carefully plucks some flowers to make her own chains for Cady. Regina winces as she watches her nearly trip over a large stone. She's always been so clumsy. "Is that a new dress?"

Just like she had hoped, Cady pauses in her prancing and nods proudly. "I just got it today! Look, the inside pleats are yellow! Isn't it pretty?"

Regina nods and picks a yellow daisy to match. "It's lovely."

"I wish I could wear pink like you," Cady sighs wistfully, looking at the pink floral accents and matching bodice on Regina's blue dress. "The seamstresses say it'll look strange with my hair."

Regina hums. "You're the Princess. If you want to wear pink, ask them for a pink dress. But you do really suit your greens."

"And yellows!" Cady beams with her missing front teeth, any sadness forgotten.
