Hayes's POV

I couldn't believe Katie. She's just like every other girl I've met. She just took advantage of me and played with me this whole time.

I do regret yelling at her though. She just looked so genuine and I really wanted to believe her, but I knew I couldn't. Katie would just break my heart like every other girl has. I couldn't risk having my heart broken again, it was too painful.

But my heart is telling me that a life without Katie is even more painful. But I'm also too busy and I've got too much on my mind to be worrying about what my heart is telling me.

I came up with a solution. I will let her stay at this house because I'm not that cruel to just leave her on the streets, but I won't talk to her or interact with her.

I wasn't watching where I was going and was so occupied with my thoughts that I bumped right into the girl I really didn't want to see right now.

My heart felt like it was being ripped in two at the sight of Katie. She was only in the shirt I gave her and her eyes were red and puffy. Her usual smile was gone, replaced with a frown.

I felt terrible and knew this was all my fault. I had caused her to be like this. I wanted to hug her so bad and comfort her, but I held it in and stuck to my promise.

"I'm sorry." Katie replied meekly, her voice hoarse from sobbing so loud. "No, I'm sorry." I cut in. Her eyes were locked onto the floor.

I couldn't take it anymore. We were so close, only inches apart. I lifted her chin up with my pointer finger but she wouldn't look me in the eye.

"Look at me, Katie" I said softly. She raised her eyes up to mine and a tear ran down her cheek.

I gently cupped my hand around her cheek and our lips crashed together, it was the best feeling in the world, like a million fireworks. Our lips moved in sync and I knew that she was the one.

My hands found her waist and I pulled her closer. She put her hands around my neck, gripping my hair.

It was perfect, nothing like my first kiss. This was meaningful.

Katie's POV

I went out of my room to get a glass of water. All that sobbing took a toll on me, my throat was killing me. I was walking to the kitchen when I bumped into the boy I wanted to see the most, the one who felt the exact opposite.

"I'm sorry." I replied meekly. "No, I'm sorry." Hayes cut in.

I kept my eyes on the ground. I was a mess. I felt like a waste of space, I felt so pathetic. All because of this one boy.

"Look at me, Katie" Hayes said softly. I raised my eyes up to his and a tear ran down my cheek.

My heart was broken. I was still feeling terrible about what I said to Hayes but my heart ached at the thought of the terrible things he yelled back at me. It all just came out wrong. My intentions were good.

Suddenly, Hayes's hand was placed on my face and he brought our lips together. I didn't know what to do. This was my first kiss and it was way better than what I dreamt it would be like.

I found myself moving my lips against his and I felt his hands grip my waist bringing me even closer to him. I curled my arms around his neck and tugged at his hair.

I felt like a bird. Flying. Free of all my sorrows and being with the one I love.

I don't like Hayes. I don't like him at all.

I love him. With all my heart. Some people say that teenagers are incapable to feel love, but they are wrong. You can never to be too young to love someone. Especially someone like Benjamin Hayes Grier.

I knew that if I told him, it would just rush things.

I pulled away from Hayes and we were both panting and out of breath. I smiled at him, tears running down my face.

Hayes's expression was priceless. "Katie! What's wrong? Are you okay?" he asked me, frantically.

"I'm fine. I'm just so happy that you aren't mad at me and I really do lo-like you." I replied, the words rushing out of me.

"I really like you too, Katie. You have no IDEA how much I like you." Hayes said emphasizing his words.

"Hayes I-" I was cut off by Carissa and Dylan running into the room tackling eachother.

Carissa fell on the floor cursing at Dylan and he cracked up. He looked up and saw Hayes and I standing chest to chest and his eyes widened.

Dylan tapped Carissa's shoulder and nodded his head towards our direction. Carissa raised her head and her smile widened even more.

"Omigoshhhhh!!! YESSSSSS!!! You guys finally made up and, I'm guessing, made out too." Carissa said wiggling her eyebrows.

I grinned at Carissa's immatureness, I loved my nosey best friend. Hayes chuckled. "Well, as a matter of fact we did make out, and this girl is a really good kisser." Hayes said tapping my nose.

I slapped Hayes's bare arm and blushed furiously. I'm guessing it wasn't too bad for my first time.

"Whatever, lets go do something fun!" I said trying to change the subject. "You didn't have fun kissing me?" Hayes asked pouting.

"I had a great time kissing you and I hope we can do it again soon." I whispered in his ear, winking before leaving the room.

Dylan's POV

While Hayes and Katie were having a lovey dovey moment, Carissa and I were tickling each other and laughing quietly, trying to listen in on what they were saying.

I saw Katie whisper something in Hayes's ear and his face turned redder than a tomato.

I burst out laughing and Carissa was cracking up since we had both seen what had just happened.

Carissa ran upstairs to go join Katie do whatever girls do when they are bored. I walked over to Hayes and I could tell he was just thinking about Katie.

"Hey dude wanna go get some ice cream?" I asked Hayes. "Uh huh" He replied, not listening to my question.

"Can we at least get dinner? I'm starving!" I asked again. "I'm good. How are you?" He said, not realizing what he was saying because he was caught up in his own thoughts.

"There's a big giant dragon coming and he's gonna burn down this whole house!" I yelled trying to get his attention. "Ya, ok, you go do that." He slurred, totally oblivious to what I was saying.

I thought about what would get his attention, then I got a great idea.

"Katie's in her bikini outside and a hot dude is checking her out." I said, smirking.

"WHAT! Katie's mine! I'm gonna bust that guy's head open and punch him till he passes out!" Hayes yelled running outside.

"Hayes, bro, calm down I was joking." I said cracking up. "What? Ohhhh ummm I was just joking too." Hayes said sheepishly.

"Hey, that's actually a good idea though. We should all go swimming but minus the part where the hot dude checks Katie out and I bust his head open." Hayes laughed, changing the subject.

"Okay, lets go tell the girls," I said, "race ya." And then we both sprinted up the stairs to Carissa and Katie's bedrooms.
