Chapter 21: Awkward

Katie's POV

After the movie, Nicole, Hayes, and I all walked back to the beach house. I showed Nicole around and it reminded me of how I looked when I saw this place.

I suddenly felt homesick, but my mom called every night to check up on us. My mom told us that she was on a business trip and that we were on spring break at school so she said it was fine for Carissa and I stay in LA.

Anyways, I let Nicole put her stuff in my room and we chatted for a long time, mostly about Hayes, and how I met him. She came up with the ingenious plan to go shopping. Of course, I couldn't resist.

And I just got to say: Nicole is love. Nicole is life.

Literally she gets me so well. I mean, Carissa is and will always be my bestest friend in the whole wide world. But sometimes, you know, it's nice to take a break from someone and meet someone new.

I went downstairs and said, "Hayessssssss, Nicole and I are going shopping."

"Okay, sounds fun, I'll just be at the beach." He replied lazily from the couch.

Nicole and I couldn't contain our excitement as we walked to the mall.

We arrived there and I was so ready to get my game on. And by game, I meant shopping. I was fully loaded with $400 cash in my wallet and my debit card which had 5,000 dollars on it.

My mom gave me the card for emergencies. And this definitely counts as an emergency. I had been wearing the same three outfits for the past couple days and I was in need of new clothes.

I should've taken Carissa with us. She also needs some new clothes. Well, she's out having fun with Dylan right now. I'll just go shopping for her. I thought to myself.

"So where to first?" Nicole asked me, breaking my thoughts.

"Well I'll probably be going to every store here so it doesn't matter." I giggled.

"Let's go to Brandy Melville right now, since it's closest." Nicole suggested.

"Sounds good to me." I agreed.

We went to Brandy and I got four different striped shirts, two sweaters, two flannels, a baby blue top, a dark green tee, a blue tie dye shirt, a white and black dress, and three halters.

Nicole just got an alien shirt and a small backpack.

"Dang gurl, when you said you were in need of some new clothes, I didn't think you should were this needy." Nicole laughed.

I blushed and said, "Well a 'gurl' needs to shop, doesn't she? Also half of this stuff is for Carissa, speaking of which, she better pay me back."

Nicole giggled and we went on to Bath and Body Works and we both got a couple lotions and body washes.

After, we visited Pink/Victoria's Secret, Forever 21, Lululemon, Pacsun, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, Mainstream, and lastly Nordstrom.

I purchased a couple undergarments for both Carissa and I at Victoria's Secret and two sweatshirts from Pink. At Forever 21 I got some cute kimonos and a few inexpensive bathing suits along with two pairs of sunglasses from Pacsun.

I bought rompers, cute dresses, and a couple shirts from Abercrombie and Fitch and at Hollister I got a load full of jeans. At Lululemon, I bought two pairs of yoga pants and two capris, along with a couple of workout clothes and two sets of running shoes.

At Mainstream, I got a blue tie dye penny board for Carissa and a pastel blue and pink one for me. Lastly, at Nordstrom I got two sets of uggs and a pair of moccasins.
