Chapter 16: Cold Water & Air Horns

Katie's POV

"Katie! Wake up!" Hayes yelled, while shaking my shoulders. I instantly woke up with the smell of wood burning.

"What happened?!" I said, while coughing. "I don't know" Hayes yelled over the fire.

I took Hayes's hand and we ran across the room. We were running and a huge piece of burning wood fell in between us.

Hayes looked behind at me. "Go! I'll find a way out!" I wheezed.

Hayes ran out of the room.

I knew, by this time, I would choke to death from all the smoke. There was no way escaping it. I was coughing my lungs out. I was running around the house trying to find a way out. It was no use.

Before I knew it, everything turned black.

I shot myself up from my bed while I took a huge breath. I put my hands on the bed behind me, panting. I was terrified.

I got up from my bed in my gray and white reindeer shorts with a light red crop sweater.

I went downstairs to check on Hayes. I knew it was a dream, but I just wanted to make sure he was okay.

I went down the spiral steps slowly, making sure I wouldn't fall because it was pitch black.

I opened his door and went over to him. He was sleeping shirtless, with a slight snore. It was adorable.

I was walking and the floorboard creaked. Hayes got up and rubbed his eyes.

"Katie? Why are you down here? It's 2 AM" He questioned. "I had a really bad dream and I just wanted to see if you were okay." I explained.

"I'm okay." He said smiling. "Here, come lay down." He said while patting the spot next to him. I smiled.

I laid down next to him. I snuggled into his warm chest and he snaked his arm around my waist. He kissed me on the forehead.

"Goodnight" He said. "Night," I replied. I fell asleep to the pattern of his heartbeat.

Carissa's POV

"WAKE UP! EVERYBODY WAKE UP! We have a big day ahead of us so get your bodies moving and your booty shaking!" I yelled, while marching around the house with an air horn.

I paraded into Dylan's room and honked the horn right in his ear. "GET UP!" I shouted into his other ear.

"AAAAAAAA!!" Dylan screamed. I burst out laughing. "You scream like a little girl!" I barely breathed out through my fit of laughter.

"Haha very funny." Dylan replied trying to hold down a smile. "Ok get up, we are going to have the perfect date-I mean day- today." I said blushing.

He grinned while saying, "Well I know it's going to be really fun because I have my favorite girl with me." I pretended to not know who he was talking about. "What! Which girl? Your favorite girl is Katie! Oooo Hayes is going to be so mad." I rambled.

"I'm talking about you silly." Dylan said cheekily as he tapped my nose gently. "Ohhhh." I replied innocently.

"Let's go spy on Hayes and Katie." Dylan whispered. "Ok, but I'm pretty sure they heard us already with your girly screams and my shouting." I whispered back, giggling.

We crept down the hallway and slowly creaked their door open. I peeked my head in and Dylan did the same. We both acted like ninjas, while we rolled along the floor and pressed up against the wall, making our way towards the bed.

I looked down at the bed and almost laughed out loud when I saw Katie and Hayes snuggled up together. They looked so cute! I motioned over Dylan and he smiled at the two.

I took out my air horn and a water gun. Dylan knew exactly what I was planning on doing. I handed the water gun to Dylan and whispered, "On the count of three."

"One" I mumbled while Dylan put his finger on the trigger.

"Two" I said as I got ready to blow the air horn.

"Three" Dylan and I shouted together while doing our thing.

Dylan started spraying the water gun like crazy and looked like a madman. I was blowing the air horn continuously as I marched around the bed to put the device next to their ears.

The sat up yelling and screaming for us to be quiet and how Dylan and I almost gave them a heart attack.

We stopped torturing them and fell on the ground laughing. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Hayes wink at Katie and he crept towards the bathroom. I didn't bother questioning it because I was too busy cracking up.

Suddenly, I saw Hayes run back into the room and dump half a bucket of ice cold water on Dylan and the other half on me. I started screaming and Dylan was cursing because the water was freezing. I stood up quickly, and started chasing Hayes around the whole house while Dylan dealt with Katie.

And that was how our wonderful day began.
