"What are you going to do with the metal again?" I ask Howard. He looks from the people transporting the metal to me giving me his full attention.
"We are going to make a shield for Rogers." Howard says.
"Army men don't carry a shield." I say looking at the men.
"Roger's has the serum in him he needs to be protected." I nod." Just like you." He says and pokes the tip of my nose. I roll my eye at him with a grin.
Howard and I kept talking and laughing until we were approached by my brother and Steve. I smile at both of them.
"Rebecca." My brother says nodding his head at me. "Mr.Stark I believe we haven't formally met. I believe you met me as her brother and not with my military rank. We will be working together so might as well make our acquaintance. " James reaches his hand out to shake Howard's.
"And I believe you've addressed your  sister by her name and not her formal title. You will be working together so you will address her by her work title which is Agent Barnes" Howard defends me. "Now if you will excuse us. Agent Barnes and I have very important business to attend to. Good day to you both." Howard says placing his hand on my back guiding me towards the headquarters.
"Captain Rogers; Sergeant Barnes." I nod my head at them.
"Never let them make less of you. You shouldn't care about them being family here. You have a higher rank. They have to respect you here and follow your command." He says at the door entrance. I nod my head at him.
"Stop letting people push you around. I won't let them do that when you are around me. I will put everyone in their place." He said and I smiled.
"Thank you." I said quietly.
"I have some important things to do like designing Roger's shield." He makes a annoyed face so I could smile.
"There's she is. That's what I want to see. That beautiful smile." He takes a big breath and smiles. "Well I really have to go." He gathers himself and makes his way towards.
"Then go." I laugh. He makes his way towards his office. I go back outside to find Steve and my brother.
"Sorry about that." I said approaching  them.
They both stared at me.
"It's like you have Stark written in big letters on your forehead." Steve said.
"I liked how he made sure we respected you." Bucky said.
"I know asshole.. you were really testing your luck there by calling me by my name. Did you really not learn anything from what we told you about Steve's experience."
"I wanted to see it for myself." A grin appeared on Bucky's face.
"Howard is very intimidating."
"He likes you Steve you are like his prized possession." I smile. "He's not intimidating."
"He's actually gets along with you so you don't see it."
"I still cant believe you met him at the expo."
"You guys left me unsupervised and I caught the eye of the most powerful CEO in the country." I smile. As I joke about how I met Howard I think about how he was flirting with me the first day and now we are very close friends and now my life changed for the better.
I have this amazing job with food pay. My job is all about authority; that is something women still dont fully have at this age. The only thing we really have is the power to hold a job. We can't even get our own bank account to have our money in there.
"Earth to Becca." James waved his hand in front of my face. I blinked a couple times before looking at him. "I thought I lost my sister." He joked, Steve chuckled a little;I rolled my eyes at him.
"Agent Barnes." I hear Howard's voice from afar. I turn to look at him coming at my direction.
"Your powerful CEO is coming this way." James said before turning his head looking.away as if he wasn't talking to me.
"Mr.Stark." I said as he approched me. He eyes Steve and James as they both pretended that they weren't hearing my conversation.
"I would like you help on a design;there's a part I quite cant put my finger on. Can you please help me?" I nodded my head;Howard looked behind me towards the boys.
"Captain Rogers; Sergeant Barnes." He said. They both turn around. "Dont you both have to undergo some training." They both nodded their head and left. I look at Howard and laugh a bit.
"Stop being so strict with them they're already intimidated." I laugh.
"It's fun." He jokes. He leads me inside the headquarters and into his office.
He shows me some of his designs.
"I personally like this one but there's one missing."  I look at the red,white and blue design with multiple stars all over.
"A star." I said. I saw Howard's expression. Like he realized what was missing all along."right here in the middle, take all of those other stars away. Just one right here." I point out.
Howard immediately grabbed his pencil and started sketching it out.
I stayed still pointing things out so he could fix.
"I love it.. it's not flashy.. it's simple." I said. Howard pulled me into a hug. I hugged him tightly.
"Thank you for all the support and for helping through out this whole experience." He said.
He pulled away and looked at me in the eyes. He looked like he was about to pull me in for a kiss. I took a deep breath and looked down towards the paper.
"You dont have to thank me Howard. I should be the one thanking you for the opportunity to be working along side of you. It's been magnificent. I've learned a lot at your side." I smile at him.
"We make a good team."
"Mhmm. I command and you listen." I joke. He goes to the window and looks outside towards the training grounds.
"Just like a married couple." He jokes. I join him and stand next to him.
"Were a old married couple." I laugh. I rest my head on his shoulder. His hand snakes around my waist pulling me into a side hug.
I see Steve and James practicing some fighting techniques with each other.
"We created that." Howard says looking Steve.
"You created that." I corrected him.
"Technically it was Dr.Erskine. May he rest in peace." He says.
"True but you provided the technology and resources for the experiment." I say.
"You provided the test subject. We wouldn't have found the right person to be the Captain if it wasn't for you."  He says. I shrugged.
"So at the end of the day and for the rest of our lives I will say. We both created that." He looked at me.
"Our Captain America." I let out a deep breath.
