The room was dark as the door trapped them in. There was no going back now.
Suddenly, torches automatically lit up showing a large, wide room with the goblet at the opposite side of the room. They walked to retrieve the goblet; but it didn't seem to be that easy.
An earthquake shook the room. The trio struggled to balance. Then parts of the floor began to fall and there was lava. They ran to a spot that is still there. They separated when the floor underneath was about to crumble down; There were all standing on three pillars; Lucas stood on one in the centre, Natalie stood on the one on his left and Alex on his right.
They were trapped. They couldn't think straight. There seemed to be no way out of the situation. They were too far apart from where the goblet.
They all felt that where they were standing in that very moment was about to crumble down. Time was running out. They found parts of the floor where they seemed far from where they all were; but they had no choice; they jumped towards them as soon as their spots fell down. Lucas was hanging on, Alex managed to reach, but Natalie was falling all the way down until she grabbed a big rock she could hang on to.
Natalie was screaming for her roaring demise was right underneath her. She struggled to hold on. Her time was about to come.
As Natalie was falling down, Lucas threw down a rope in time for her to catch. She rushed through the rope; feeling the heat of the lava underneath her. Lucas kept pulling as fast as he can for Natalie seemed to be having sweaty hands. Natalie was by the edge at the very top; until her hands began to slip from the rope, but Lucas managed to grab her arms and she got up in time.
Now Lucas and Natalie's spot began to shake. Lucas put a grabbling hook on the rope and threw it to another spot. Together they took the rope and swung across just before the floor piece could fall.
Now that Lucas and Natalie were hanging on a wall whilst holding onto the rope; Lucas's rope was on the verge of snapping. Natalie was crying.
"Lucas! Natalie! Take my rope!" Alex threw his rope and they jumped and both found their grips. They climbed as fast as they could and now they all were standing on the same spot; expecting it to collapse as well. But things got a little more surprising.
A large, gigantic hammer swung from the opposite side and was about to crush them. They ran until the floor beneath them collapsed and they were hanging on again. The hammer smashed the wall and rocks fell and faded away in the lava. Now another hammer was swinging but they couldn't get up and stand on the platform knowing that the hammer is going to crush them. If they got up; they could either get crushed or fall.
"I have an idea!" Alex shouted, "We get up and we grab hold of the side of the hammer and we will swing with it whilst we climb across it to reach the other side!"
"How is that possible?!" Lucas responded.
"Well the impossible is all we have now. Alex waited for the right time until he grabbed hold of a handle on the hammer and was swinging with it. He screamed. He swung a few times whilst waiting for Lucas and Natalie to get on.
"I think I'm gonna get sick," Lucas thought to himself. Then he grabbed hold of what he was hanging onto underneath Alex.
They both climbed slowly to get to the top of the hammer. They grabbed hold of another one whenever the hammer has ended its swing on the side of the wall. They squeezed their grips so tightly.
As Alex and Lucas were almost gripping the top of the hammer, Natalie was still hanging on the platform.
"NATALIE!!!" Alex screamed, "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!"
Natalie was panicking.
"Natalie! You can do this! I'll grab you!" Lucas yelled, "I promise!"
Natalie honestly felt touched; Lucas has never promised anything before. She took a chance and managed to grab Lucas's hand. Natalie screamed until she found a handle.
"Take your time Natalie," Lucas said.
Alex and Lucas were holding on to the top of the hammer. Lucas waited for Natalie till she was close to reach for his hand again. She tried to grip after two handles before the hammer could swing to the next side. She managed to reach the top with Alex and Lucas.
The three were lying stomach down on the hammer facing sideways holding on.
"Are you ready?!" Alex screamed.
"Ready for what?!" Lucas replied, "Oh you have gotta be kidding me! I hate you Rothman! I hate you!"
"NOW"
The three let go and fell forward so they can fall on the platform. They screeched with pain when their sides slammed down.
The earthquake began to shake them again. They sprinted before any part of the floor could crumble down. The floor was going down right behind them and it seemed to be catching up.
They were so close to the goblet but also close to their deaths. They pounced towards the other side and fell to where the goblet lay. They screeched when their sides were in pain again from the first fall.
There was no way out now. They had no idea how they were going to get out of the temple now. But luckily they have reached the goblet.
Natalie was crying, "I was never that scared before! I was so frightened!"
Lucas approached Natalie and gave her a huge hug. Alex felt happy for Lucas and Natalie. He thought to himself that he will get that again once Zain is back.
Alex slowly got up and seemed to be limping. He touched the goblet until a dark mist appeared out of the goblet. The trio were startled.
As the mist revealed itself, it was Barlows.
