CHAPTER EIGHT
Professor Umbridge

When morning came, Aurora had gotten up two hours earlier than the expected time. It was already the first day of classes and she was not at all prepared for it. Like any other first day of school, her stomach turned and twisted with anxiety. She had yet to know her schedule and see Professor McGonagall for the Time-Turner. Her bag was already packed with the required textbooks from the book lists as well as journals, quills, and ink. Despite the amount of stuff going into her school bag, it was as light as a feather.

During breakfast, the Heads of Houses were passing out timetables to their students. Aurora waited impatiently that she didn't bother eating until she had her schedule in hand.

"Hagen, here's your schedule." Professor Sprout handed Aurora her paper and went on with the others before Aurora could thank her for it.

"Let's see," Megan said as she snatched the schedule out of her hands and took a look at it. "Wow, you've got a dreadful day ahead of you. But it looks like they messed up your schedule, you've got tons of classes this year. It's not possible to take every class in school, is it?"

Aurora took back her schedule and glanced at it seeing as Megan was right, she did have an awful day ahead of her. "No, I don't see a mistake. The schedule looks fine to me. Besides, it's not that many classes. I asked Professor Sprout and McGonagall about it last year before school ended. At the time I wanted anything that would take up my time, now I'm not so sure, but I'm more than capable of doing this. I know I can."

It was indeed true.

Despite wanting to have her entire fifth year full of courses or work, now Aurora believed that she wasn't thinking straight at the time she decided. Of course, she wasn't. With everything that happened, she only wanted an escape — she still did but she somehow knew that with Professor Umbridge being at Hogwarts, things weren't at all going to be easy and manageable. Nonetheless, she was going to keep her promise to Professor McGonagall.

"Are you sure, Rory?" Hannah asked as she had taken a look over Aurora's shoulder to see her schedule. "That looks like it's a bit too much. Keep in mind that we do have O.W.L.s this year, so you've got to balance studying for that along with classes and friends, Quidditch, and homework — Merlin, how am I going to handle all of that? I didn't think it was anything until I said it out loud."

Aurora wanted to let out a small laugh at how her friend was already panicking when it was only just the first day of classes, but knowing that Hannah was quite sentimental, she kept it in and assured her that everything was going to be okay and that if she'd like, Aurora would help her with everything she can. Hannah was left a bit relieved and took Aurora's word.
