CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR
Honesty Between Friends

When Aurora walked into the drawing room, she saw everyone. Well, everyone but Sirius. Molly was talking to Fred and George, or so that is what it looked like. Hermione and Ginny were talking to Harry and Ron. However, when they all caught sight of Aurora, they stopped talking and stared at her.

Ron was first to say something. "Well? What happened? We heard you shout—"

"Everyone heard her shout," commented Fred. "That's like the tenth time today."

"What was it this time, Rory?" questioned George.

"It's not good to stick your noses into other people's business," said Mrs. Weasley, looking around at the teenagers. Though, the look she had in her eyes told Aurora that she too was curious. "Matter of fact, why don't you all go to bed? It's Christmas Eve tomorrow and we all ought to be up early finishing up decorating and cleaning up this place."

"I won't be here tomorrow morning," said Aurora, looking at Molly. "Can't we all just stay up tonight? I swear we'll be quiet and we won't trouble you or Sirius."

"Oh, please, Mum!" Ginny began to beg. "Can we? Can we? Can we?"

"George and I will take the responsibility of looking out that things are in order," proposed Fred in a serious tone, though a look of mischief in his eyes. "We won't make any loud noises to disturb you or Sirius, or anyone who ought to come later tonight if they wish."

"We'll be on our very best behavior," added George. "We swear it."

Although Molly seemed to want to disagree, she did not. In fact, she let Hermione be in charge rather than Fred. Therefore, if anything were to happen, Hermione would call the shots and order them to sleep if she felt like it.

"Good night, then," said Mrs. Weasley on her way out.

Everyone wished her a night's rest before she shut the door behind her. Then, it suddenly became quiet as they all waited for Molly's steps to disappear.

"Well?" said Fred quietly, directed at Aurora. "What happened? Ginny barely told us anything. She said there was this guy staying here. We assume you ran into him, right?"

"We heard you shout for help," said George. "We also heard you shout for Sirius. When you did, we were practically running out trying to see what was going on. We couldn't see anything but we did hear voices. We heard you and Sirius, and there was someone else. We couldn't recognize the voice, but Ginny swears is that guy she ran into earlier."

Ron then spoke, "Then, Mum came in and kept us in here. We asked her what was going on, but she refused to tell us anything. She said that whatever was going on was strictly business between you and Sirius. She was quite confused and concerned too."
